Install four slow signs at intersection of James and Grand Street. On motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Jenkibe, recommendation of <br />Committee was adopted including in the motion the installation"ofslow' signs <br />on Katherine Street for the protection of the Parochial School children. <br />Traffic Committee recommended changing hours of operation of traffic lights on <br />El Camino Real to operate from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. On motion of,Couneilman Britsehgi, <br />seconded by Councilman Anderson, this recommendation was approved. Under the <br />question, Councilman McNulty asked whether the City had authority to change the <br />operation of lights. It was decided City Manager shgnld contact the State High- <br />way Commission in this connection and•if agreeable with them hours of operation <br />would 'be changed. <br />In_ regard to Middlefield Road Bus stopping in the middle lane for loading and <br />unlaoding, the Committee recommends the matter be .placed in the hands of the. <br />Police Department.. k <br />Traffic Study Committee was requested to consider the suggestift that the bus <br />stop at Broadway and El Camino Real be changed so the bus would not be forced to <br />make left-hand turns from right-hand lane'. <br />Traffic Committee reported -,on resolution introduced at the meeting of February <br />15th regarding the painting of red, yellow,and green on curbs recommending Chang s <br />In three or four locations. Recommendations were approved on motion'of Council. <br />man Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Councilman Anderson offered the <br />resolution for adoption with the changes as recommended. It was suggested that <br />City Manager contact•Dr. Mason on California Street to get his reaction to <br />painting out the red strip on the curb.in front of his office. <br />;7ity Manager Head reported he had made arrangements for the ambulances of the Yellow <br />Cab Co. to be parked on Marshall Stre6t. <br />City Manager Mead also reported that Purity Store on Arguello Street would repair <br />their parking lot. <br />(%ity MaAager Mead advised that he had received a check in the amount of $750.00 from <br />Mr. Frank Depatta for the purchase of Lot 3, Block 14, Sweeney /Addition. This <br />lot was advertised.at the price of $400.00. Mr. Mead submitted this offer to'the <br />Council without recommendation. On motion of Councilman Jenkins, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, this Vas referred to, the Real Estate Committee to be reporte <br />back at the next meeting.',. <br />Onmotion..of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson, Weed Abatement Reso. <br />lution. No. 1943-1 was introdueedi.> <br />1Sayor Granger reported that he had been approached by a member of .the local service <br />club offering to take over the local rifle range, repair same and keep it in good <br />condition, the range still to be undep the supervision of the City.
