12:� <br />Mayor Grarg,er brought up the matter of getting a clearance from General DeWitt!s <br />department to make an all -clear test, of sirens on a certain day of the week in <br />'r order to test the Civilian Defense alarm system. <br />t <br />Councilman Jenkins stated that several of the local citizens had had lots plowed for <br />victory gardens with the results that dirt was left on the sidewalks resulting <br />In a muddy condition whiQh was hazardous to pedestrians. City Manager was di- <br />rected to contact the property owners to have the sidewalks cleaned. <br />Councilman Jenkins requested City Manager Mead to bring Ordinance Book up-to-date by <br />i <br />the addition of a copy of all ordinances passed since the book was published. <br />City Manager. Mead agreed to undertake this work. <br />Councilman �ritschgi suggested the possibility of securing the lot factng,El Camino <br />Real between James Street and the garage occupied by Weltner Motor Co. for a par`, <br />Ing Lot. City Manager Mead -will investigate the matter. <br />Councilman Britschgi suggested installation of one-way street signs on the alley ' <br />known as Commercial Way to control_=the traffic from the adjacent parking lot. <br />City Manager Mead will take care of this matter. <br />Councilman Hilton suggested that the meeting adjourned in respect to the memory of <br />the late Allen McKay, and the Clerk was instructed to forward a copy of the <br />resolution to family. <br />Mayor Granger reported he had received a letter from Governor Warren in regard. to the <br />Union Cemetery stating that the Mayor's request for appropriation of $1500 per <br />year.for the next two years for up -keep of the cemetery hail been referred to the <br />State Director of Finance. <br />Claims Nos. 2382 to 2424, totaling 089146.13, approved for payment on motion of <br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Resolution offered by Councilman Hilton, seconded by Councilmah Fletcher, to adjourn <br />the meeting in respect to the memory of Allen McKay was unanimously carried on <br />roll call. <br />U <br />I <br />R.
