r <br />0 <br />6, <br />Lt <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 151 1943 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />U pon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C. A. Britschgi, <br />E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, Louis Jenkins, Jr., G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. <br />Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City Mangger,R. W., Mead, <br />City Attorney Paul A. McCar hy, Police Chief C. L. Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ilan, <br />City Collector N. L. Miramontes, Street Superintendent H. L. Winter and County <br />Health Inspector E., Stein. <br />minutes of regular meeting of March lst were approved on motion of Councilman Hilton, <br />seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Communication received from Mrs. Wm. A. Baxter, Chariman Publicity, Redwood City <br />Chapter American Red °Cross, thanking members of City Council; and City Manager <br />for their participation in the parade on February 27th. On motion of Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Counbilman Hilton, Clerk was instructed to write Mrs. Baxtexl <br />commending her on the excellent showing made on the parade signaling the opening <br />of the War Fund Drive. <br />4ommunication received from Baptist Brotherhood, men's organization of the First. <br />z <br />Baptist Church, Redwood City Post #105: American Legion, Bay View Lodge #1099 <br />w <br />T.O..O.F. and Mrs. Dove H. Beeger, Secretary of Auxiliary to Peninsula Hospitals <br />Committee, relative to the Hospital Committee appointed by the Mayor to meet with <br />the Chamber of Commerce Hospital Committee, commending the action of the Council <br />. n v <br />and pledging support in the matter of planning hospital facilities for Redwood Ci <br />and vicinity. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher <br />*all communications were to be referred to the Hospital Committee. <br />3ommunication received from United Spanish War Veterans soliciting the cooperation of <br />the Council in the program and parade to be held on April 4, 1943, at 1 P.M. at <br />the Veterans Hall at which time the cannon and caisson now standing on the lawn <br />will be presented to the U. S. Army.. Attached to this communication was an order <br />of parade and line of march. Mayor and City Councilmen are requested to ride in <br />automobiles in this parade. <br />7ouncilman Anderson, Chariman of the Priorities Committee, asked that'his report be <br />placed on the agenda for next meeting at which time he will have completed the <br />preliminary report and will present same to the Council at that time. <br />_ :3esolution,requesting the aid of Senator Harry Parkman and Assemblyman. H. W. Call in <br />�i <br />passing Assembly Bill No. 1672 was, adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher; <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, <br />Hayor Granger announced appointment of the following committee to work with the Chamber <br />of Commerce Committee in the matter of hospital arrangements for the City: <br />H. F. Anderson, C. A. Britschgi, Louis Jenkins, Jr.; Dr. J..N. Blood, Mayor <br />4` Granger will call the two committees together in the near future;., <br />',r <br />i',ity Manager Mead reported he had attended the Railroad Commission hearing on dis.- <br />continuance of Emerald Lake bus service.
