Upon motion by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman <br />Flet'aher, Item No. 25 covering the setup was ordered restored*to the original <br />resolution. <br />City Manager Mead reported that the Real Estate Committee hod held the price on Lot 39 <br />Blk, 14, Sweeney Addition, to $400 which amount Mr. DePatta agreed to pay. Check <br />has been received. <br />City Manager Mead reported he had contacted Mr. Andrews regarding the use of vacant <br />lot on E1 Camino Real near James Avenue for parking lot and was awaiting reply. <br />This matter placed on the agenda for the next meeting. <br />Contractor L. C. S4iitli rendered claim in amount $2,596.22 covering work done on Perry <br />Street, James Avenue and Broadway. Superintendent of Streets Winter certified <br />to the satisfaction of the job and on motion by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by <br />Councilman Anderson, Claim was ordered paid. <br />Representative of the County Health Department, Emil Stein, reported on sanitary <br />conditions in general, stating that the conditions were satisfactory. <br />Councilman Hilton suggested that parallel parking should be placed in effect on E1 <br />Camino Real between Brewster and Broadway for safety of motorists, stating that <br />an accident had occured a few days ago involving an automobile backing out into <br />dine of traffic. Police <br />Chief Collins advised the Council that these sobriety tests were absolutely <br />necessary in obtaining convictions, and the fines collected were resulting in <br />considerable profit over all expenses involved. « <br />
