accounting'his check for final balance for his services would be forthcoming. He <br />stated further that he resented the receipt of such a letter. City Manager ex- <br />plained that,a letter had been written him on April 7 to which no reply had been <br />received, whereupon the letter mentioned above was written in an effort to get <br />some action. The City Manager with the assistance of City Attorney will endeavor <br />to satisfactorily adjust this difference and will report back at the next meeting <br />as to their success in securing a list of former members of the band now holding <br />uniforms and instruments. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, claims numbers 2551 <br />,to 2595, inclusive, amounting to $5,.444.793, werb ordered paid. <br />Adjournment. <br />r <br />R. S. D e, City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 3, 1943 <br />5:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, 0. A. Britschgi, <br />E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton. -Louis Zenkins, Jr., G. W,; McNulty, Mayor F.: D. <br />Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City Manager R. W. Mead, <br />'City Attorney P. A. McCarthy; Police Chitf C. L. Collins,. Fire Chief fit. E. Ryan, <br />Street Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, And County <br />Health Inspector E. Stein. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, minutes of meeting <br />of April 19, 1943, were approved. <br />Communication received from Parke and Recreation Commission requesting authority to <br />expend the sum of $50.00 for repairing of the firing range, On motion of <br />Councilman McNulty, Seconded by Councilman Anderson, this expenditure was approved <br />with the understanding that the range would redain under the direction of the <br />A Recreation Department. <br />Application for permit to raise chickens on a commercial basis received from Mr. Alber, <br />Wong at 1401 Valota Road., On motion. of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi, permit was granted subject to inspection of Health Inspector. <br />Application for permit to raise chickens at 1623 Gordon Street received from R.•G:. " • <br />Rremeveck. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />permit was granted. <br />Application for benefit dance to be held by the Italian Catholic Federation at <br />Foresters Hall, Saturday May 5, received from Mr. Joseph J. Dematteis. On motion <br />of Councilman.Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Hilton, permit was granted and fee <br />waived. <br />Application for permit to conduct benefit dance by the Foresters of America at the <br />Foresters Hall Saturday, May 15,freceived from Mr. Geo.
