Mayor Granger directed <br />motion out of order inasmuch as the matter had to be covered by the offering of <br />a resolution. Councilman Anderson, after reconsidering the matter, offered a <br />motion to hold the matter over to the next meeting at which time .City Manager <br />i.: Mead would •report back after conferring vrith Colonel Skeggs of the Highway <br />n Commission. This motion seconded by Councilman McNulty and carried. <br />Traffic Committee also recommended that the State be requested to repaint the center <br />and parallel stripes on Main Street from Five Points to Bayshore HIg;hway. City <br />,.r Manager Mead.directed to contact State Highnvray Commission and request this be <br />taken care of. <br />Coi#munica.tion received from Louise Stiles, Secretary of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission, recommending that the Yacht Harbor be open to the public daily .until <br />the:'followiog specified hours: <br />Lr� June 9 01clock <br />July 9 01clock <br />August 9:30 O'clock <br />Commission also recommends that Yachtsmen be permitted to remain on board <br />their boats overnight preceding weekends and holidays upon shDwing their Coast <br />Guard passes and signing the register. It also recommended that the Yacht Club <br />be permitted to use the Yacht Harbor club house for meeting purposes. On motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, recommendations of the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission were adopted. <br />Communication received from Mr. Andrew Spinas, District Superintendent, Redwood City <br />Elementary Sc#ools; Mrs. Clare Geisner, Secretary, Garfield P.T.A.; and Mrs. <br />r Mary L. Schmitz, Secretary, McKinley P.T.A.; requesting that the Council consider <br />the passage of a curfew law similar to that recently passed by the County Board <br />of Supervisors. Mayor Granger suggested that a epmmittee of disinterested citizens <br />be appointed to study the matter and report back to the Council. Councilman <br />Fletcher and Councilman Hilton both voiced the opinion that they were heartily in <br />favor of. the idea.and irould,be willing to vote on the matter immediately, but <br />would agree to a committee studying the matter. Councilman Anderson stated he <br />,ryould be ready to vote immediately in so'far as the spirit is concerned but <br />vpuld prefer -time to -study over the matter and suggested that the Clerk secure <br />..�� copies of the County ordinance to be mailed to .each Councilman. Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, moved that the Clerk secure copies for <br />each member of the Council and place the matter on the agenda for the. meeting of <br />June 21, requesting the County Juvenile Officer to appear before the Council to <br />answer any question which might arise. <br />On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Hilton, ordinance covering <br />,. changing of names of three streets was introduced. <br />3n motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the matter per- <br />taining to the Eilersf building in the 1900 block,on Jefferson Avenue continue to <br />first meeting in July. <br />Matter of sign at 2500 E1 Camino Real, permission to erect same given_on July 17, 1939., <br />Building Inspector L.
