a <br />1 <br />LTJ <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 2, 1943 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen 0. C. Armstrong, C. A. Britschg_, <br />Y <br />E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger and City Clerk <br />R.' S. Dodge. Absent, Councilman H. F. Anderson. Also present were City Manager <br />R. W. Mead, City Attorney P. A. McCarthy, Police Chief C. L. Collins, Fire Chief <br />M. E. Ryan, Street Superintendent H. L. Winter, City Collector N. L. Miramontes, <br />Building Inspector L. M. Duncan and Health Department Inspector E. Stein. <br />On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Hilton, minutes of previous <br />meeting vrere approved. <br />Application for dance permit received from Court Ma.drone 158 F. of A., for Saturdays, <br />August 7th and 14th. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />McNulty, permit was allowed. <br />Application for dance permit received from Eldon Algeo to be held in Foresters Hall <br />Wednesdays, August 4th and 11th until 12 midnight. On motion of Councilman <br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, permit was allowed. <br />Application permit received from Opal B. Berkeley to conduct restaurant at 2303 E1 <br />Camino Real. County Health Inspector Stein reported he had inspected the premise <br />and found same in good condition. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Hilton, permit allowed. <br />Application for permit to conduct poolroom at 2303 El Camino Real filed by Robert L. <br />Berkeley. Motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, permit <br />alloti e" d. <br />Permit allowed 1dr. Kerston, 1463 Kentfield Avenue, to conduct commercial chicken <br />business after report of Health Inspector Stein showing premises met all re- <br />quirements. <br />Communication read from United Veterans Council regarding additional emergency exits <br />from the Veterans Hall at Warren and Standish Streets. Mr. Willian Wider appearec <br />before the Council explaining that there was only one exit at the present time ani <br />asking that two additional exits, one on either side of the rostrum, be installed, <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, rgatter referred <br />to City Manager for investigation. <br />Phe following members of the Traffic Study Committee, recommended by various service <br />clubs and organizations proposed by Mayor Granger and on motion of Councilman <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, Mayor's recommendation approved. <br />Mrs. Charles Rider Mura Still eson <br />Norman Walsh Henry Witte <br />Carl Ward John Layng <br />A. Frank., ovrner of adjacent property to Red Feather <br />Co., on the advice of his attorney rejected annexation stating that he could see <br />no advantage in such an action. On motion of Councilman Hilton, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, resolution of intention giving notice of proposed annexation <br />A <br />7,6 <br />
