Hilton ''tl <br />Noes and against the p-ssege and adoption of the foregoing <br />resolution: <br />Councilmen: None <br />Absent:.Councilmen: None <br />Communication was received from Railroad Commission declining to oct as arbitra- <br />tor between San Francisco and Redwood City in matter of wCeter rates. Carried <br />on agenda until next meeting. <br />Councilman Graneer requested that matter of rezoning of Middlefield Road from re- <br />sidential to business district, extending to Bayshore Highway, be carried <br />on agenda for next meeting. <br />He also suggested that consideration be given to acquisition of parking <br />areas, particularly near the Southern Pacific property; and to the fact that <br />such a large proportion of water users had availed themselves or previous <br />discount, some means might be devised to equalize recent increase in rates, <br />so that they are not penalized. There being no objection, these matters _ <br />were carried on agenda. <br />Councilman Anderson requested Chief Collins to check traffic violations of <br />pedestrians deliberately *uaiking across intersections against signal, <br />especially at Broadway and Fl Camino. <br />Councilman McNulty reported that Real Estate Committee recommended that full amount <br />of $1704.04 due the city on lot at Roosevelt and Valota be collected from <br />owner, Mr. Callan. Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, <br />and unanimously passed, that Real Estate Committee's recommendation be <br />accepted. <br />At request of Councilman Armstxong, Mayor Hilton instructed City Attorney HcCarthy <br />1 <br />to prepare a resolution for presentation at next meeting of the Council, pro- <br />viding for transfer of amount received from sale of old library property, <br />from the General Fund to the Post War Fund. <br />IMI <br />City Clerk Dodge read communication from City Tax Collector ;diramontes re uestin <br />q g <br />instructions regarding sale of the balance of the lots to be sold on bids. <br />i <br />It was understood that she would be authorized to open bids when received, <br />and to -sell the parcels if the minimum »rice erns met on each sale. City <br />1' <br />Collector wwa.s instructed to accept the bid of Ben Silverstein of $1001.00 <br />on parcel #7, even though a higher bid was received at 10:12 A.M. Mr. <br />.II <br />Silverstein's bid was on hand at 10:00 A. 11. <br />�u <br />City Attorney McCarthy suggested that a motion be made approving sale of lots sold <br />i <br />at recent public sale.
