On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded <br />by Councilman Britschgi, matter was referred to the Engineering Department <br />and the City Attorney for report at next meeting. Motion carried. <br />Communication .;as received from C. E. Randlett regarding sidewalk and driveway <br />construction, where street improvements had broken into a property owners , <br />driveway, and adjoining pavement, recommending that expense be extended <br />over the district affected. After some discussion, .Councilman Anderson <br />moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty that City Engineer be instructed to <br />charge cost to each property owner affected and not against the district. <br />Motion unanimously carried. <br />Communication was received from A.B. Cheatham and Constance Cheatham advising <br />termination of lease with the city for property on California Street, now <br />used for a parking lot. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher, that letter be acknowledged by City Clerk, and that Mr. Cheatliam <br />be thanked for his generosity in extending the use of his property for <br />public convenience for such a long period. <br />Communication was received from Mr. Geoxge Rose asking that he be relieved of <br />his duties as a member of the Parks and Recreation CommissiGh. Councilman <br />Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty that his resignation be <br />accepted, and a letter of appreciation for the fine services he has ren- <br />dered the Commission be addressed to him by the Oity Clerk; and thpt <br />matter be carried on agenda for next meeting, for consideration of appoint- <br />ment to fill vacancy c2used by Mr. Rose's resignation. <br />Communicction was received from Dr. Jacob Weins, enclosing clipping from San <br />Francisco Chronicle of October 2nd regarding fatal sting of a bee, result- <br />ing in death of the victim, to sustain his objection to the keening of bees <br />in a residential area. On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Council- <br />man Anderson and unanimously carried, letter was referred to the Health <br />Department,. end the City Attorney instructed to investigate the possibility <br />of framing an ordinance prohibiting maintaining bees, in certain areas. <br />Communication was received from Iir. James A. Miller., accompanied by petition, <br />requesting the return of Lots on Arch Street and Lexington Avenue to second <br />residential. Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, <br />that m2tter be referred to the Plannin? Commission, and the City Council <br />any a+nplic--tion fox construction of commercial buildings in that area. <br />Communis^tion ryas received from T. E. Morgan, requesting sidewalk, street and <br />curb construction on Linden and Center Streets in Redwood Ville. Park. <br />Councilman Anderson moved, sPcnnded by Councilrnnn McNulty that it be re- <br />ferred to the City Manager when appointed, with request for report to the <br />Council. <br />Communication was received from residents on Circle Road, requesting street <br />improvements. Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded oy Councilman Armstrong <br />t <br />that this matter be refexred to the Engineering Department and the inter- <br />ested people notified that work will be done next Spring. <br />
