W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
ATTEST:
Ralph S. Dodge
Clerk of the City of Redwood City
I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 7th day of January,
19.46.
W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
Councilman Granger was of the opinion Beech Street between Main Street and
Lathrop Street should be red'rocked inasmuch as it was full of chpok.holes.
Mayor Hilton asked if this street was @lways to remain a red rock street.
Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that the matter
be referred to the city manager to determine the -status of the street and
a report be made at the next meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Granger questioned scooters being allowed to drive around the city
without
a license and at
a high rate
of speed,
It was brought
out that
licenses
were issued by
the State.
Councilman
Britschgi moved,
seconded
by Councilman Anderson, that the matter be referred to the city manager
to work out a solution to the problem. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Anderson questioned a claim of the Cook Research Laboratory in re -
Bard to analysis made of water in the Emerald Lake Reservoir which action
was necessary because of the Woodside Fire Department breaking into it
during a fire. Street Superintendent Winter explained that he had had the
analysis made to determine whether the water had been contaminated. The
Woodside Fire Department is to pay the cost of the analysis but the city
was being billed by the Cook Laboratory. Councilman Granger believed some
system should be worked out wherein fire hydrants would be installed in
the Emerald Lake District and a monthly service charge made to the residents
so that there would notl_be a recurrence of the city's drinking water being
used to put out a fire. He moved that the City Manager contact the Emerald
Lake District and fire departments in the area and see if fire hydrants
could be installed and a monthly charge made to the residents. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Anderson and passed unanimously:
Councilman Fletcher advised that there were Eucalyptus trees on Hudson near
Roosevelt at Hawes Park which were in need of trimming. A resident had
claimed that part of the trees were on the park property and there was
danger of the limbs falling off. He asked that the City Manager look into
the matter.
Lr
