DODGE City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 189 1946. <br />8:00 P. M. <br />On roll call the following were present: Councilmen C. C. ARMSTRONG, CARL A. <br />BRITSCHGI, E. A. FLETCHER, FLOYD D. GRANGER, GEORGE W. MCNULTY, Mayor <br />W. W. HILTON and City Clerk R. S. DODGE. Also present were: City Manager <br />E. W. Blom, City Attorney Paul A. McCarthy, City Collector N. L. Miramontes <br />Acting Fire Chief Jos. Lodi, Assistant Building Inspector Stephen Kreiss, <br />Street Superintendent Lisle Winter and Acting City Engineer 0. E. Randlett. <br />Absent: Councilman Harold F. Anderson. <br />Minutes. of the previous meeting were approved as mailed on motion of Councilman <br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application for dance permit was received from Court Madrone No.. 158, F. of A., <br />for benefit dance to be conducted Saturdays, February 23rd and March 2nd, <br />1946, until 12:00 midnight. Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Council- <br />man E16toherf that permit be granted. Under the question, Councilman <br />Britschgi questioned why the dances were not allowed to be conducted until <br />1:00 A. M., however, it was decided no to take any action on this until <br />such time as a request was received to do so. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application was received from Clarkson Motors to conduct a used car lot at <br />1703 El Camino Real. This company now conducts an auto sales agency at <br />1701 El Camino Real. Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi, that the permit be granted subject to the conditions of Ordi- <br />nance No. 376. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application was received from W. A. Van Buren to move used car lot from 302 <br />E1 Camino Real to lot running between El Camino Real and Main Street. <br />Oouncilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that the per- <br />mit be granted Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application was received from Mrs. L. W. Trembley, 1442 Gordon Street,.for a <br />commercial chicken permit. This is a second residential district, how- <br />ever, some commercial chicken raising is done in this district. Oouncilman <br />Granger was of the opinion that the permit should be granted until some <br />definite action is taken by the Council as to whether or not chicken <br />raising should be continued in this section. He moved, seconded by Council- <br />man Fletcher, that the permit be granted subject to the approval of the <br />Health Department contingent on the fact that this property is in the <br />Kentfield Tract. City Attorney McCarthy advised that a similar application <br />had been before the Planning Commission recently and that they had recom- <br />mended against its being granted, which recommendation the Council had <br />sustained. Councilman Granger withdrew his motion with the consent of the <br />second. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the <br />223 <br />1 <br />
