Herbst <br />requesting <br />permission to <br />remove office building located at 302 E1 <br />Camino Real to <br />the corner of; <br />Hopkins and El Camino Real. Councilman <br />Britschgi moved, <br />seconded by <br />4'' <br />Councilman Fletcher, that the matter be <br />referred to the <br />City Manager. <br />Motion passed unanimously.-� <br />Communication was received from Luxor Cabs requesting that a space be desig- <br />nated to them across the street from the Greyhound Bus Station on East <br />Brewster for the purpose of installing a telephone which will be mounted <br />on a separate pole and erected by the -telephone company in accordance with <br />city regulations. This communication was held over until later in the <br />meeting until after action had been taken on the taxicab ordinance. <br />Petition was received signed by approximately 60% of the property owners in <br />the area requesting concrete work, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, etc, at <br />Jefferson Avenue and Quartz Street and Vera Avenue and the southwesterly <br />city limits. The matter was referred to the City Manager for investi- <br />gation and report at the next meeting. <br />Communication was received from the Redwood City•Planning Commission with <br />several recommendations which were acted upon separately. The first <br />recommendation was that the Commission unanimously determined to retain, <br />for an indefinite period, the present classification of property on each <br />side of Woodside Road from E1 Camino Real to the City boundary line as <br />it existed prior to the annexation of the Carson -Monckton tract, and <br />accordingly recommended against the granting of pet-itions of Louise R. <br />Evanq F. and G. Fontana and Hans Jacobsen to rezone their properties to <br />business. This decision was reached after a joint meeting with the <br />!' County Planning Commission. -Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by <br />I Councilman MoNulty, that the Council concur in the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation. Motion passed unanimously. <br />regard and to the rezoning of property on each side of Middlefield Road, <br />, g <br />the Commission voted against.recommending a change for zoning due to <br />�I <br />opposition presented by property owners and residents. City Manager Blom <br />I' advised that no one appeared in favor of the,rezoning at the meeting of <br />I <br />j; the Planning Commission but that since that time a petition had been Te - <br />received signed by 14 of the 15 property owners residing in improved pro- <br />perty on that street. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher, that the matter be referred back to the Planning Commission. <br />�f- Motion passed unanimously. <br />Favorable recommendation was made of a request to subdivide Lot 7 in <br />{ Block °IC°, Woodside Acres, southwesterly corner of Oxford Street and <br />I Palm Avenue into three lots. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by <br />i'. <br />}} Councilman Britschgi, that the recommendation of the Planning Commission <br />be sustained. Motion passed unanimously. <br />al <br />
