4 Reynard of the P. G. & E. had advised ,him that this amount was incorrect <br />and that .it should be $350 for the gas line and $150 for the electric line. <br />City Manager Blom reported that there had been some controversy between <br />4 Mr. Oleson and the P. G. & E. as to the amount and was of the opinion that <br />4 the matter should be held over to get Mr. Oleson's approval to the rise in <br />the price. Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Granger,that <br />the matter be carried on the agenda. Motion passed unanimously. <br />l <br />Councilman Fletcher was excused from the meeting. <br />i Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, filing of affidavit <br />of publication of notice of sale of real property, being a portion of Lot <br />;I 14, Sweeny Ranch. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Sealed bids were opened for the sale of the above mentioned property. The <br />following bids were received: M. Richardson, 2354 Oak Knoll Drive, Redwood <br />City, $400. A post office money order in the amount of $40 was enclosed. <br />M. J. King, Inc., 231 Franklin Street, San Francisco, $501. A certified <br />check in the amount of $50.10 was enclosed. Mr. L. A. Heiner, real estate <br />i� appraiser, set the value of the lot at $550. City Attorney McCarthy advised <br />that the Council could accept a bid of 901 of the appraised value. Council- <br />,y <br />man Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that the bid.of M. J. <br />King, Inc. be accepted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />City Clerk Dodge reported that he, City Manager Blom and City Attorney McCarthy <br />had called on Mr. Harrington of the firm of Orrick, Dahlquist, Neff, Brown <br />and Harrington, in regard to the sale of $200,000 of bonds. Mr. Harrington <br />will prepare the necessary resolutions for submission at the first meeting <br />in March, An advertisement will also appear in the Redwood City Tribune <br />and it was Mr. Harrington's advice that an advertisement also appear in the <br />Daily Bond Buyer because so many bond companies had access to the Bond Buyer <br />Mr. Harrington suggested that bids be opened either March 19th or 20th and <br />that the Council adjourn its meeting of March 18th to either of those dates. <br />The bids will be opened in the City Manager's office at 11:00 A. M. of the <br />day of the adjourned meeting. City Attorney McCarthy advised that Mr. <br />Harrington suggested Tuesday or Wednesday to open the bids becuase those <br />days were more advantageous to getting a better bid than Monday. It was <br />tentatively decided that the meeting of March 18th would be adjourned to <br />I <br />'.i <br />I March 29, and that bids would be opened at 11:00 A. M., March 20. <br />'f <br />City Manager Blom reported that Mr. Lloyd Fowler, a city employee who had been <br />living in a city owned cottage on Harbor Blvd., had resigned and was moving <br />from the cottage. He recommended that, due to the housing shortage, this <br />cottage be made available to a city employee who was a returned veteran, <br />Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the City <br />Manager's recommendation be approved and that the cottage be rented to a <br />returned serviceman in the city's employ on a month to month basis. <br />i. Motion passed unanimously. <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that Richard J. Meyer, et al, had granted an <br />easement to the city comprising of twenty feet running parallel with E1 <br />Camino Real and in back of a lot on Brewster Avenue, and presented a <br />23.5 <br />I= <br />I <br />M <br />
