0 <br />Councilman Britschgi offered resolution authorizing the proper city officials <br />3 to enter into a contract with the Board of Supervisors to acquire said lots. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman McNulty and -was unanimously adopted { <br />-on roll call with Councilmen Anderson and Fletcher absent. <br />R E S O L U T I ON No. 275 {` <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ACQUIRE TAX <br />DEEDED LAND FOR COMMUNITY CENTER AND RECREATIONAL PARK. <br />RESOLVED by the City Council of this City that this City enter into a <br />contract with the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of �{ <br />California, for the acquistion by this City of the title of the State of <br />California to all State owned lands in Blocks 37, 38, 41 and Lots 19 to 28 <br />inclusive of Block 42, as shown on a map entitled "Central Park No. 21, here- �. <br />tofore recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of San <br />Mateo, said State, said property being more particularly described in a <br />Exhibit °A" of the contract herein referred to; I� <br />FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized i <br />to negotiate with said Board of Supervisors to fix the price of 'said lots <br />and to execute a.contract on behalf of this City Council. <br />ff� <br />i <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a <br />regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of February, 1946, by the i <br />following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption.of the foregoing resolu- <br />tion: Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, McNULTY and HILTON. f <br />NOES, and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing -Resolution: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />i <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: ANDERSON, FLETCHER <br />W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City j <br />City Attorney McCarthy reported on disabled veterans' exemptions. He advised <br />that a disabled veteran of wars not including World War 11 who is physically <br />unable to earn a livelihood by manual labor and is a voter of the State is <br />entitled to peddle or distribute merchandise without any license fee but that <br />he shall be issued a free license. Councilman Granger expressed the opinion <br />that it should be established that the veteran is disabled before granting <br />a free license. It was decided that the City Attorney would draft a suitable <br />application for such purposes. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Council <br />.man McNulty, that the City Attorney draft the necessary application which <br />the applicant must complete before the free license is granted. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Britsch g' i offered resolution of <br />preliminary intention to ir#prove Beech <br />I' ull <br />Street, seconded by Councilman Armstrong. On roll call, resolution was L4 <br />unanimously adopted with Councilmen Anderson and Fletcher absent. <br />RES OLUT ION No. 276 <br />RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION TO MAKE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that it does hereby <br />preliminarily determine that the public convenience and necessity require Q' <br />
