256 <br />Thorpe be granted an extension of one year's additional leave from his <br />duties as Police Sergeant to commence March 1, 1946. Also presented was <br />a letter from W. H. Thorpe addressed to City Manager Blom requesting that <br />he be granted an additional year's leave. Councilmen Granger moved, second- <br />ed by Councilman Britschgi, that the necessary steps be taken to amend the <br />rules and regulations of the Personnel System as recommended by the Board <br />of Review. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that W. H. Thorpe <br />be granted an additional year's leave to commence March 1, 1946. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />City Attorney McCarthy presented a resolution authorizing conveyance of a por- <br />tion of Lot 14, Sweeny Ranch to M. J. King, Inc. This was the property <br />for which the Council had accepted M. J. King, Inc. bid at the last meeting. <br />Councilman Anderson offered resolution authorizing conveyance of portion of <br />Lot 14, Sweeny Ranch to M. J. King, Inc., and moved its adoption, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously, and on roll call resolu- <br />tion was unanimously adopted. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 282. <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE OF A PORTION OF LOT 14 OF SWEENEY <br />RANCH. <br />WHEREAS, proceedingsrfor the sale of -the real property hereinafter <br />referred to , in accordance with provisions of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City, have heretofore been taken, and M. J. King, Ino.was the <br />highest and best bidder for said property, in accordance with a notice of <br />sale thereof; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that in consideration of the sum of <br />Five Hundred One (501.00) Dollars payable upon delivery of a deed of said <br />property, the City of Redwood City convey to said M. J. King, Inc., the <br />real property hereinabove referred to and particularly described in the <br />deed to which a copy of this resolution is attached. <br />Further resolved that the Mayor and the Clerk of this City be and they are <br />hereby authorized to execute such deed for and on behalf of this City. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a <br />regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of March, -1946, by the follow- <br />ing vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolu- <br />tion: Councilmen: ANDERSON, ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, FLETCHER; GRANGER, <br />McNULTY and HILTON. <br />NOES, and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolutio n: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: NONE <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S.
