M <br />"l7 <br />n <br />1945, the bouncil authorized`he appointment of one additional police officer <br />in the Police Department. Examinations have been held and two new police <br />officers appointed, one filling a vacancy and the other filling the addition- <br />al appointment. Some of the returning police officers who are veterans are <br />returning at a salary higher than that received when they entered the service. <br />Due to that fact and to provide funds for the salary of the additional officer <br />it is necessary to transfer funds from the unbudgeted reserve to the police <br />salaries account. Councilman Fletcher offered resolution and moved its <br />adoption authorizing transfer of $1200 from the unbudgeted reserve to the <br />police salaries account. The motion was seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />On roll call, the resolution was unanimously adopted with Mayor Hilton and <br />Councilman Anderson absent. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 285 <br />AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT SALARY AOCOUNT NO. 4211. <br />RESOLVED that the sum of $1200.00 be and it si hereby authorized to be <br />transferred by the City Treasurer from Unbudgeted Reserve to Account No.4211 <br />Police Department Salary Account, said amount $1200.00 being necessary to <br />cover expenses of employing additional personnel. <br />The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Coun- <br />cil of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the <br />1'lth day of March, 1946, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolu- <br />tion: Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, FLETCHER,.GRANGER, McNULTY. <br />Noes and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />IABSENT: Councilmen: ANDERSON and HILTON <br />W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City df.Redwood Citiy <br />0ity Clerk Dodge advised that the State Compensation Fund had estimated a pre- <br />mium of #3000 for compensation insurance at the time the budget was prepared. <br />Upon completion of the payroll audit, however, there is a balance of $919.14 <br />plus $146 due from the Port. The budget.was set up for the exact amount of <br />$3000 and it is necessary to transfer $919.14 from unbudgeted reserve to <br />pay the balance owed by the city. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, adoption of resolution transferring $919.14 from un - <br />budgeted reserve to cover State Compensation premium based on payroll audit. <br />On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted with Mayor Hilton and <br />I Councilman Anderson absent. <br />261 <br />
