I
I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution this. 18th day of
March, 1946.
W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
In regard to•Poplar Avenue Subdivision, Acting City Engineer Randlett advised that
the subdivider, Mr. Hogg, had made arrangements with the Planning Commission
which were approved by the Council .to file a map, install sewers and street
work and be given building permits as he desired to build on this street.
There was a misunderstanding about filing the final map, however, the Ooun-
oil had approved the issuance of building permits. There is some ligiga-
tion in regard to this'subdivision and the building has stopped. The street
work has not been done but there is $2500 posted for this work. Councilman
Britschgi was of the opinion that inasmuch as the -money was deposited for
the street work the subdivider should be forced to put in the street. Ooun-
oilman Granger believed it would be in order to refer the matter to the .
i
City Attorney to consult with Attorney O'Keefe, who is the attorney fQ the
people instituting the suit against the subdivider. It was City Manager
Blom's opinion that $2500 might not cover.the cost of the street work.
Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the City
j-
Manager be instructed to review the matter to see what can be done to start
laying the'street and sewers in this district and the pity Attorney be in-
structed to contact the attorney for the people in the district who are
instituting the suit against the subdivider. Motion passed unanimously.
City Clerk Dodge asked if the Council wished to send description of proposed
j Charter amendmentsvwith the sample ballots for the coming election. It
was the general consensus that this should be done. It was also decided
that material sbmitted against the amendments should also be mailed with
the sample ballots. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman
Granger, that.a pamphlet describing the Charter amendments to be submit-
ted to the`voters at the April election be sent out with sample ballots
j and also any pamphlet against such amendments. Motion passed unanimously.
i
Councilman Granger offered resolution of preliminary intention covering improve-
ments at Jefferson, Quartz, Vera and Taft Streets, -seconded by Councilman
Britschgi. On roll mall, resolution was unanimously adopted. City Attorney
McCarthy adked if the Council wished individual notices sent to property
owners in regard to the above improvements. Councilman Britschgi moved,
seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the property owners be notified by
t
post card notices. Motion passed unanimously.
RES0LUT ION No. 289
RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION TO MAKE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS.
RESOLVED by the Council of the Oity of Redwood City, California, that
it does hereby preliminarily determine that public convenience and necessity
require, and that it intends to order the following work to be done and im-
provements to be made in and for said City, to -wit;
1.
