Anderson.
Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the minutes of
the previous meeting be approved as mailed. Under the question, City
Attorney McCarthy stated that there was an error in the wording of the
filing of affidavit of publication of ordinance and in the adoption of
ordinance which should read as follows: °.... filing of affidavit of pub-
lication of ordinance disfranchising city officers as members of commis-
sions and committees....°,*and, "....adoption of ordinance disfranchising
city officers as members of commissions and committees....". He also
stated that in regard to the resolution adopted with regard to improvements
on Hudson Street, it should read a resolution of preliminary determination
and not preliminary intention. Councilman Granger changed his motion to
read that the minutes concur in the wording of the ordinance and that the
wording of the resolution be changed from "intention" to "determination".
Councilman McNulty accepted the amendment to the motion. Motion passed
unanimously.
Communication was received from the Sequoia District Girl Scout Leaders Associ-
ation for permission to conduct card party at the Women's Club House on
either May 17th or 24th. Motion passed unanimously.
Application for dance permit was received from Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A.,
for benefit dances to be conducted Saturdays, April 20th, 27th and May 4th.
Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the permit
be granted. Motion passed unanimously.
Communication was received from the Clyde Beatty Circus for permission to exhibit
in Redwood City either May 24th or May 28th. Councilman Granger moved,
seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the permit be granted upon recommen-
dation of the Police and Fire Departments. Motion passed unanimously.
Communication was received from City Manager Blom advising that the 101 Ranch,
Wild 4est and International Congress of Circus Stars had made an application
to exhibit in Redwood City on Tuesday, April 30th. Councilman Fletcher
moved, seconded by Councilman Britsohgi, that the permit be granted if all
rules and regulations of the ordinance are met. In answer to Councilman
Britschgils question as to what classification this exhibit came under,
City Manager Blom replied that there was no definite classification but he
believed it would come under the animal show with an extra charge for a
moving picture, and that the fee would amount to $20 or $25.
