S. requesting <br />permission to conduct rummage sale at Five Points Garage on April 26th <br />and 27th Councilman ch <br />a Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, <br />that the permit be granted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from the Redwood Cab Company in the form of an appli- <br />cation for a restaurant license for a sandwich and coffee shop at 886 Main <br />Street. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />that the permit be granted subject to the approval of the Health Depart- <br />ment. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application was received from the firm of McDonald & Cryer requesting permis- <br />sion to operate a used car lot at 570 El Camino Real. Councilman Fletcher <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the permit be granted. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes advising <br />ii <br />that she had requests to purchase from the city Lots 5, 103, 14, Block 2, <br />and Lots 9, 10, Block 30 Jefferson Avenue Addition; N.W. 1/2 of Lot 94, <br />Gray Tract; Lot 1, Block 1, Homestead Addition No. 2 were on the list of <br />I <br />11 <br />lots advertised in September, 1945. The parties wishing to purchase the <br />property are owners of adjacent property. Councilman Armstrong moved, l <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the lots be advertised subject to <br />the same terms and conditions of sale of previous lots. Motion passed <br />unanimously. City Attorney McCarthy advised that it would be necessary <br />to either appoint an appraiser or have the real estate committee make an ! <br />appraisal. He advised that under the ordinance the sale of tax delinquent <br />lots is permitted b the Assessor I\I <br />Y provided an appraisal has been made by <br />the real estate committee. Inasmuch as these are tax delinquent lots and i <br />were included on a previous notice of sale, it would be appropriate to <br />have the real est to committee make the a j� <br />&_ appraisal. Councilman Granger <br />moved, seconded by Councilman F letcher, that the real estate committee jll <br />appraise the lots. Motion passed unanimously. f• <br />Communication was recieved from the International City Managers' Association <br />advising of a conference to be held in Montreal, June 16-21, 1946. City <br />Manager Blom advised that he did not believe it would be advisable for {; <br />him to attend this conference this year. The City Clerk was instructed �{ <br />to advise the Association that Redwood City would not be represented at <br />this conference. L, J <br />Communication was received from the San Mateo County Title Company advising i <br />is <br />that it was the title company's understanding that the city was to pay <br />all taxes in regard to the sale of Lots 2, 5, Block 11, Sweeny's Addition. <br />iI <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that he had discussed the matter further <br />with both Mr. Morrissey, attorney for the purchaser, and the title company. �' { <br />
