City Attorney McCarthy expressed
the opinion that the matter had not been made clear and that, therefore, it
would be in order for the city to pay the taxes. Councilman Granger moved,
seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the city pay the delinquent county
taxes on Lots 2, 5, Block 11, Sweeney's Addition in the amount of $81.64.
.Motion passed unanimously.
Application was received from George W. City Attorney McCarthy advised that the
Planning Commission at its last meeting had given further consideration to
changing the setback along these streets and that, inasmuch as it would be
necessary to acquire some property to change the setback, the Commission
had authorized by resolution a motion to request the City,Council to appoint
an appraiser to determine the damage to Miss. Leah Reid's property'and also
the damage to the Southern Pacific Company's property because of taking ten
feet from the frontages of their property. This resolution should have
been before the Council at this, meeting.
