318 foriij a construction of said drainage improvements and other public improve- <br />mente"mentioned above•be and the same are hereby adopted and approved as <br />and for the plans, profiles, specifications and detailed drawings for said <br />work and improvements. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the City of Redwood City be and he <br />id hereby ordered and directed to post a notice of said work and improve- <br />ments, together with plane, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications <br />therefore, conspicuously for five days on or near the Council Chambers door <br />of the Council of said City of Redwood City inviting sealed proposals or <br />bids for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein. Said <br />City Clerk is also ordered and directed to publish a notice inviting such <br />sealed proposals or binds and referring to the plans, profiles, detailed <br />drawings and specifications posted or on file of the period required by <br />law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper of gen- <br />eral circulation published, printed and circulated in the City of Redwood <br />City, and hereby designated for that purpose by the Council of said City; <br />' IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT all bids shall be delivered to the office <br />of the City Manager of the City of Redwood City in the City Hall of said <br />City, not later than the hour of 3:00 o'clock P.M. of Monday, the 6th day <br />of May, 1946 when said bids will be opened and examined by said City <br />Manager and a recommendation made as to the awarding of said contract <br />before the Council of said City at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of Monday <br />the 6th day of May, 1946. <br />The Council of the City of Redwood City reserves the right to reject <br />any and all bids. <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the work and improvements herein described <br />shall be done under the direction of the City Engineer of said City of <br />Redwood City, and that materials used therein shall comply with the speci- <br />fications heretofore adopted and be to the satisfaction of said Engineer <br />instead of the Superintendent of Streets of said City. <br />The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the <br />Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on <br />the 15th day of April, 1946, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of.the foregoing <br />resolution: <br />Councilmen: *ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, FLETCHER, GRANGER, McNULTY and <br />HILTON. <br />NOES and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: ANDERSON <br />ATTEST: <br />T <br />RALPH S. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the City <br />Manager be authorized to call for bids for drainage project ath the corner <br />of James Avenue and E1 Camino Real, the time for receiving bids to be <br />May 6th. Motion passed unanimously. <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that he had received .a letter from Orrick, <br />Dahlquist, Neff, Brown and Herrington approving the bond issue of $200,000. <br />City Manager Blom advised that the firm of Schwgbacher-Frey had been <br />awarded the bid to print the bonds. <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that the City will require an additional five <br />foot easement along the Pulgas line from Rogers Street to Middlefield <br />Road for the purpose of installing a sanitary sewer trunk line.
