Motion passed unanimously. <br />Amendment No. 5: Change second sentence of Section 8 of Rule VIII. Eligible <br />lists shall be in effect for a period of one year, except with the approval <br />of Board of Review, they may be extended for a period of one year. Council- <br />man Granger moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the Amendment No. 5 <br />i <br />be approved and added to the Rules for Personnel Administration. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Amendment No. 6: Amend Rule•VIII by adding section. Age of firemen and <br />police patrolmen must be 21 years at time of filing application and less <br />' <br />than 30 at time of appointment. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Armstrong, that the Amendment No. 6 be approved and added to the <br />Rules for Personnel Administration. Motion passed unanimously. <br />The communication also stated that consideration had been given to the pro- <br />posed amendment of the <br />personnel ordinance as submitted to the Council at <br />its meeting April 15. The recommendation of the Board of Review with ref- <br />erence to this amendment is as. -follows: 1. That temporary employees paid <br />on a per diem basis be excluded from the provisions of the personnel ordi- <br />nance provided their working period in any one year does not exceed 180 days <br />2. That employees of the Port Department who are classified as dock workers <br />and who are paid on an hourly basis or per diem basis be excluded from the <br />provisions of the personnel ordinance. City Attorney McCarthy advised that i■ <br />the Port Commission desired to discuss the amendment pertaining to the ll�� <br />Port Department before action is taken by the Council. He also advised that <br />it would be necessary to post a resolution pertaining to the six approved <br />amendments to the Rules for Personnel Administration five days before the <br />next Council meeting at which time it would be necessary for the Council to <br />adopt the resolution. <br />I <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that it is proposed to dedicate by deed to the <br />city an alley shown on the map between Broadway and Bay Road, the map being i <br />of Broadway No. 2.• Councilman Britschgi moved adoption of resolution <br />i <br />accepting deed from A. S. Liguori and J. Frank Cuddy and Jean M. Cuddy, his <br />wife, to alley in Broadway No. 2 between Broadway and Bay Road, and dedicat- <br />ing the alley as a public street and providing that the resolution be re- <br />corded with the deed. The motion was seconded by Councilman McNulty and on <br />roll call resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />RES OLUT ION No. 311 <br />ACCEPTING DEED OF ALLEY BETWEEN BROADWAY AND BAY ROAD FROM BEECH TO 0 <br />CHESTNUT STREETS. <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that a deed from <br />Alphonsus Liguori also known as A. S. Liguori and J. Frank Cuddy and Jean <br />M. Cuddy, his wife to the City of Redwood City that certain alley between <br />Broadway and Bay Road from Beech to Chestnut Streets for a public thor- <br />oughfare and as a dedication of said alley as a public street be and the <br />same is hereby accepted and the Clerk of this Council is hereby directed <br />to cause said deed, together with a copy of this resolution, duly certified <br />by him, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County <br />
