HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, filing of affidavit of <br />notice of publication of hearing as required under the zoning ordinance, and <br />filing of affidavit of notice of publication of ordinance. Motion passed <br />unanimously. There were no protestants to the change of setback lines of <br />'Lot 1) Block 9, Redwood Highlands. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, adoption of or- <br />dinance changing setback lines of Lot 1, Block 9, Redwood Highlands. On <br />roll call ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />In regard to public hearing on proposed improvements to Center, Park, Madrone, <br />McEvoy and Hess Road, Acting City Engineer Randlett reported that cards had <br />been sent out to property owners advising of the hearing. There had been <br />some difficulty in contacting the owners, and in checking with the title <br />company, it had been discovered that the owners were not owners of record. <br />80 replied to over 100 cards sent out. The result was almost two to one in <br />favor of the improvements. On a front footage basis, 287o were in favor of <br />the improvements and -157o against. The results had been tabulated according <br />to streets. City Manager Blom recommended procedure be instituted for the <br />entire project except Hess Fkoad, which failed to approve the improvements <br />r <br />on the post card vote. Councilman Britschgi offered resolution of prelimi- <br />nary determination to make public improvements in Redwood Villa Park, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Werder. Resolution carried unanimously on roll call. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, that City Mana- <br />ger Blom be authorized to engage an outside engineering firm to prepare <br />plans and specifications. Motion passed unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION No. 323 <br />RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION TO MAKE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br />IN REDWOOD VILLA PARK <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, California, that <br />it does hereby preliminarily determine that public convenience and necessity <br />require, and that it intends to order the following work to be done and <br />improvements to be made in and for said City, to -wit: <br />1. The construction of improvements on streets, all as particularly <br />described in Exhibit A hereto attached and made a part hereof by reference. <br />2. All of said work and improvements are to be constructed -at the <br />places and in the particular locations of the forms, sizes, dimensions and <br />materials, and to the lines and grades and elevations as to be shown and <br />delineated upon the plans, profiles and specifications to be made therefor <br />and adopted by the City Council of said City. <br />3. The cost of said work and improvements shall be assessed against <br />a district; which is particularly described in Exhibit B attached hereto <br />and made a part hereof, which district and the property therein said Coun- <br />cil does hereby determine and declare will be benefitted by said work and <br />improvements, all in accordance with Article I of Ordinance No. 333 of <br />said City. <br />4. Notice is hereby given that Serial Bonds to represent the unpaid <br />assessments and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed five (570) per <br />cent per annum will be issued pursuant to Article I, Section 3 and Section <br />5 of Ordinance'No. 333 of said City, commonly known and designated as <br />"Redwood City Improvement Procedure Ordinance" adopted March 14, 1932, as <br />amended, the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine (9) years <br />from the second day of January next succeeding October fifteenth°follow- <br />ing their date. <br />335 <br />
