Motion passed unanimously <br />Communication was received from the Redwood City Planning Commission advising <br />that the Planning Commission had refused the request of H. H. Weiner to re- <br />zone Lot 2 in Block 1 of Resubdivision of portions of Block 1 and 2 of Sub- <br />. . <br />division "A", Wellesley Park from first residential district zone. Coun- <br />oilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that the recommen- <br />dation of the Planning Commission be accepted. Motion passed unanimously, <br />Communication was received from City Manager E. W. Blom recommending that a <br />thirty day vacation be granted to Fire Chief M. E. Ryan who is retiring <br />rom city service after thirty years service and who had taken no vacation <br />since 1941. Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that <br />the recommendation of the City Manager be accepted. Motion passed unani- <br />mously. <br />Communication was received from City Manager Blom advising that an inquiry had <br />ok been received as to whether the city would be willing to dispose of the <br />.band uniforms formerly used by the Municipal Band. An inventory of the <br />instruments also in storage was attached to the letter. It was the City <br />Managers recommendation that permission be granted to advertise the uni- <br />forms for sale and that the Council give consideration to the possibility <br />of keeping the instruments for future use. Councilman Armstrong moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger, that the City Manager be authorized to <br />offer the band uniforms for sale. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from City Manager Blom advising of regional confer- <br />ence of the Civil Service Assembly to be held in Sacramento on May 20,21, <br />and 22, and requesting approval of the Council to send Jane Mead to Sao- <br />ramento for the last two days of the conference. Councilman Britschgi <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, that the request be granted. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from City Manager E. W. Blom advising that it would <br />® be necessary to provide office space and equipment for the 'office of the <br />police judge in the City Hall. The total estimated cost was 01350, for <br />which funds are available in the unbudgeted reserve. Councilman Granger <br />offered resolution and moved its adoption transferring $1350 from the un - <br />budgeted reserve to the police judge account to pay for office space, <br />furniture and equipment. The motion was seconded by Councilman Armstrong <br />and on roll call was unanimously adopted. <br />RES GLUT ION No. 332 <br />AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF $1350.00 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO MUNICIPAL <br />BUILDINGS - ALTERATIONS. <br />RESOLVED that the sum of $1350.00 be and it is hereby authorized to <br />be transferred by the City Treasurer from Unbudgeted Reserve to Municipal <br />Buildings - Alterations and Repairs account No. 4084 for the purpose of <br />making certain alterations and the purchase of furniture and equipment <br />and a Law Library for Police Judge chambers in the City Hall. <br />The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on <br />the 20th day of May, 1946, by the following vote: <br />7!
