He also said <br />he had seen something very disturbing in the Tribune in regard to water <br />pressure and said that the water system in Redwood City is in a deplor- <br />able condition. He said there had been submitted in the last budget re- <br />commendations for the improvement of the water system. City manager <br />Mead advised that before he had given a statement to the press he had <br />asked Chief Ryan to come to his office. Pyr. Ryan had concurred in his <br />statement at that time and he said that if Mr. Ryan had not been in agree- <br />ment hb.should have s6l§tated.�then. There was considerable more discus- <br />sion on the part of Chief Ryan and ,Street Superintendent Wintnr in regard <br />to the water system, plans for the improving of which are being worked on. <br />Claims No.. 5602 to 5693 in the amount of $4382.59 were approved and ordered <br />paid on.motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Anderson offered resolutions and moved their adoption adjourning <br />meeting out of respect to the memories of PFC William V. Lammert and <br />,Captain William Cook Foss who lost their lives while in the service of, <br />their country and that a copy of the red6lutim be forwarded to members <br />of their respective families and spread on the official minutes of the <br />Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman Granger and on roll call <br />resolutions were unanimously adopted with Councilman Fletcher absent. <br />{ <br />RESOLUTION <br />RESOLVED that this meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City adjourn in memory of PFC William V. Lammert, a resident of this <br />city who entered into the service of his country, who made the supreme <br />sacrifice in the defense thereof and in the preservation of our national <br />principles. <br />Be it further resolved that the Clerk of the Council forward to the <br />family of the late William V. Lammert a copy of the resolution and that <br />the same be recorded in the official minutes of the meeting of the City <br />Council. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a' <br />regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of July, 1945, by the fol- <br />lowing vote= <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing; reso- <br />lution; <br />Councilmen; H. F. Anderson, C. C. Armstrong, C. A. Britschgi, F. D. <br />Granger, G. W. McNulty and 1V. W. Hilton. I <br />Noes and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolu- <br />tion: None. <br />Absent: Councilman E. A. Fletcher. <br />W. VJ.
