a <br />City Clerk Dodge submitted plans to the Council which Club Seamus and Club <br />Deap6n had presented to comply with the ordinance to,allow•dancing in <br />their establishments. Councilman Anderson moved permit be granted to <br />Club Seamus and Club,Deacon upon compliance with the plans and speci- <br />fications as presented. The motion was seconded by Councilman Flet- <br />cher. Under the question, Councilman Armstrong was of the opinion <br />that neither club complied with the ordinance according to the plans <br />submitted and that he was going to vote against the motion. There was <br />considerable discussion with several of the councilmen signifying their <br />intention of voting against the granting of permit's. The motion failed, <br />to carry with Councilmen Anderson and Fletcher voting in the affirmatixee <br />and Councilmen Armstrong, Britschgi, Granger, McNulty and Mayor Hilton <br />voting in the negative. <br />Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the:abatement .a:Deeeair,6A <br />proceedings against the Rice, Hollenbaugh, Banta, Buhler, Roberts, and <br />Zekerle properties be carried on the agenda to the first meeting in <br />September. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Messrs. Golly and Duprey, tenants of the Klang property, appeared before the <br />Council with Mr. Klang requesting that abatement proceedings be carried <br />along for the duration.' They stated they had spent considerable money <br />'in moving in and were not aware that no license was to be granted them <br />at this address. Councilman McNulty expressed the opinion that if the, <br />tenants would give a written agreement that they would, move frog' -the <br />building at the duration he would be agreeable to letting them stay. <br />Mr. Klang offered to post a bond to give them notice tb move at that time. <br />Councilman Anderson moved that the business license be "granted the tenants <br />subject to placing of a bond by the owner of the property in the amount <br />of $1000 on the condition that he will remove the building within thirty <br />days following the end of the present war. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty and passed unanimously. <br />City Clerk Dodge read agreement of American Legion with Mr. H." D. McGarvey, <br />Councilman Fletcher offered resolution and moved its adoption accepting <br />agreement of American Legion with H. D. McGarvey, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger. City Attorney McCarthy advised he believed the agreement should <br />be r,recorded separately inasmuch as the deed has already been recorded by <br />the American Legion. On roll call the resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />Couneilmah Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that affidavit of <br />F n' <br />publication of 1945-46 Salary Ordinance be filed. Motion passed unani- <br />mously. <br />Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, adoption of 1945-46 <br />Salary Ordinance. On roll call, ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />
