f <br />not the City Clerk should be the notary, City Clerk Dodge answered that <br />In many cases it was his signature that had to be notaried. <br />Councilman McNulty advised that a house on Buckeye Street had been advertised for <br />sale and that it was advertised as having two rooms over a garage. The <br />building inspector said he would cheek into the matter. <br />Councilman McNulty questioned bicycle riding on the left hand side of.the street. <br />Chief Collins said he would check into the matter. <br />Councilman Fletcher said that inasmuch as swimming was now prohibited.at Yacht <br />Harbor, he belleved4fi.ehing should be allowed. He moved -that the matter be <br />:Deferred to the Recreation Commission for their recommendation. The motion <br />I was seconded by Councilman Anderson and passed unanimously. <br />City Attorney Mcdarthy reported that.he had attended a meeting before tie Utilities <br />Commission in San- .Francisco and that the Peninsula committee had been favorably <br />received. The Commission agreed tq V#t the matter of a raise in water rates <br />over to next Monday and that he had secured permission to rebut any argument. <br />City Csllector Miramontes addressed the Council stating that she haa••just recently <br />completed thirty years of service with the city and that she felt she could <br />not leave the meeting without expressing her feelings about City Manager Mead. <br />She said'he had always been Very cooperative and that he was one of the finest <br />men the city had ever had. She wished him luck in his new venture. <br />Claims No. 5719 to .195 inclusive in the amount of 06,228.23 were approved and ordered <br />paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by'Councilman Fletcher. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mrs. C. Hogan, 110 D Street,'appeared before the Council asking if something could <br />be done about a drainage ditch along Blandford and Alameda de las Pulgas where <br />she was building a home and where she was going to have to install sidewalks. <br />Mayor Hilton advised her the matter would be referred to the Engineqring Dept, <br />City Clerk Dodge advised that Monday, August,13, 1945s, at 10:00 A.M. is the Board <br />of Equalizationts annual meeting.,- <br />, _ • <br />Councilman Fletcher moved the meeting be adjourned until Monday, August 13, at 10:00 <br />A.
