'F <br />I <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Mpftlty; permission was <br />granted Mr. Victor Seliven to subdivide Lot 9, New High School Acres, as re. <br />commended previously by the Planning Commission. Sketch of this subdivision <br />is on file in City Clerk's office. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, pugchase of 1500 <br />city maps - was authorized to be paid for from. Advertising Fund. <br />Commencement of work on extension of Poplar Avenue through Munson property was <br />authorized. on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, <br />after City Attorney�McCarthy explained that $400 had been deposited with City <br />Treasurer to guarantee amount necessary to obtain Lot $8 which is included in <br />condemnation suit now under way. <br />Letter of resignation from Miss Jane Mead was read by Cleo effective September 1st. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, resgination <br />was accepted as of this date, compensation to be paid as per ruling of City <br />Attorney: Under the question, Councilman Fletcher withdrew his seoond on .the <br />grounds that he did not fully understand the motion, stating further that he was <br />not aware until Friday night, August 10th, that Mrs. Donnelly was considered to <br />take over the position. After considerable discussion, Councilman Fletcher <br />moved, seconded by,Counoilman Granger, that resignation be accepted as presented. <br />' V <br />Motion carred, councilman McNulty noting no. <br />11■! After discussion of proposed partition at Club Deacon and study of sketch, it was <br />decided that it be brought up at the next Court it meeting for further discussion. <br />i <br />Building Inspector Duncan presented sketch submitted by owner of 1048 El Camino Reed., <br />requesting permission to raise building 4 feet and construct store underneath. <br />On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, matter was re- <br />ferred to Planniijg Commission. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Granger, meeting adjourned. <br />j R. Anderson, C.C. <br />Armstrong, Floyd D. Granger, George W. Mc Nulty, Mayor W.W. Hilton, and <br />City Clerk R.S. Dodge. Also present were: Attorney Paul A. McCarthy, <br />Police Chief C.L. Collins, Fire Chief M.E. Ryan, Building Inspector L.M. <br />Duncan, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, City Engineer R.J. Clarke and <br />Street Superintendent H.L. Winters.
