'F I On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Mpftlty; permission was granted Mr. Victor Seliven to subdivide Lot 9, New High School Acres, as re. commended previously by the Planning Commission. Sketch of this subdivision is on file in City Clerk's office. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, pugchase of 1500 city maps - was authorized to be paid for from. Advertising Fund. Commencement of work on extension of Poplar Avenue through Munson property was authorized. on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, after City Attorney�McCarthy explained that $400 had been deposited with City Treasurer to guarantee amount necessary to obtain Lot $8 which is included in condemnation suit now under way. Letter of resignation from Miss Jane Mead was read by Cleo effective September 1st. On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, resgination was accepted as of this date, compensation to be paid as per ruling of City Attorney: Under the question, Councilman Fletcher withdrew his seoond on .the grounds that he did not fully understand the motion, stating further that he was not aware until Friday night, August 10th, that Mrs. Donnelly was considered to take over the position. After considerable discussion, Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by,Counoilman Granger, that resignation be accepted as presented. ' V Motion carred, councilman McNulty noting no. 11■! After discussion of proposed partition at Club Deacon and study of sketch, it was decided that it be brought up at the next Court it meeting for further discussion. i Building Inspector Duncan presented sketch submitted by owner of 1048 El Camino Reed., requesting permission to raise building 4 feet and construct store underneath. On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, matter was re- ferred to Planniijg Commission. On roll call the following were present: Councilman Harold F. Anderson, C.C. Armstrong, Floyd D. Granger, George W. Mc Nulty, Mayor W.W. Hilton, and City Clerk R.S. Dodge. Also present were: Attorney Paul A. McCarthy, Police Chief C.L. Collins, Fire Chief M.E. Ryan, Building Inspector L.M. Duncan, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, City Engineer R.J.
