Minutes of previous meeting were approved as mailed on motion of Councilman <br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Armstrong. Under the question, Oouncil- <br />man Granger recommended that motion be amended to include minutes of <br />adjourned meeting of August 30th. Councilman McNulty with consent of <br />second, accepted amendment. Motion passed unanimously. <br />A-oDlib-atibn for extension of from 30 to 60 days for his client Julius Marinni <br />to maintain a rooster on his property until the return of his son, owner <br />of the rooster, from overseas duty with the U.S. Navy, was received. In- <br />asmuch as com-olaint had been brought before Judge McAuliffe, the Council <br />felt it imnroner to suggest what procedure should be followed by the Court, <br />f <br />t <br />but members were individually not verse to such continuance if the Judge <br />should see fit to Brent it. Petition from neighbors of Mr. Meriani was <br />filed with City Clerk. <br />Annlic-atinn for dance hermit was received from Yvonne Schlichtmann for Wednesday <br />nights, September 5th and 12th, until 12 P.M. fee having been paid. Council - <br />0 man Fletcher that permit be granted subject to usual conditions. Motion <br />passed. <br />Annlication for dance permit was received from Court Madrone #158 F. of A. for <br />two Saturday nights, September 8tn a,nd 15th until 12 P.M. Benefit dance. <br />Councilman I..ToNulty moved, seconded by Oouncilman Fletcher that permit be <br />granted, subject to usual conditions. Motion passed. <br />Application from ladies of Congregational Church was received, requesting per- <br />mission for rummage sale et Five Points Garage, 2001 E1 Camino Real, <br />October 5th and 6th, Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher that permit be granted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from the Redwood City Child Care Center, signed by <br />Lucille Leale, to Rend an accredited representative to a meeting to be <br />held at the Child Care Center, McKinley School, September 5th, 1945 at <br />8 P. M. Mayor Hilton instructed City Clerk Dodge to advise Mrs. Leale <br />that due to shortness of notification, it was impossible to send e <br />re-oresentative. <br />Communication was received from the National War Fund and Community Chest of <br />Redwood City, signed by ESrl Whitaker, soliciting supnort of forthcoming <br />campaign. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Oouncilman McNulty <br />that the City Treasurer be authorized to contribute amount provided in <br />budget for this purpose⢠On the question, Councilman Britschgi expressed <br />the opinion that a specific amount should be designated. Councilman <br />Armstrong, with consent of second, withdrew his motion, and Mayor Hilton <br />ordered matter laid over until next meeting, instructing the City Treasurer <br />to have a report on definite sum provided. <br />Application to conduct a metal cooler shelves manufacturing business at 872 Main <br />Street, was received from H. F. Coykendill. It was moved by Councilman <br />Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, and unanimously passed that <br />application be referred to Planning Commission for consideration and <br />recommendation. <br />
