Present owner, Mrs. Floyd, explained her plans for <br />improving building, with the possibility that it might be allowed to <br />remain after her temporary permit expired. Councilman Armstrong moved, <br />�I seconded by Councilman Anderson, that application be referred to the <br />Building and Fire Departments for further consideration, and report made <br />to Council Motion passed. <br />Application was received from Mr, and Mrs. Frank Abate for permit to maintain <br />auto court at 1818 El Camino Real. Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty that license be granted, subject to approval of Health <br />Department. Motion passed. <br />Applicatinn for water service connection on property known as Eaton Avenue Villa, <br />adjoining Carmelita Manor in Redwood City, was made by Mr. Ray Tafanelli. <br />Councilman Fletcner and Armstrcng.expressed reluctance to make such an arrang-- <br />ment, suggesting that Mr. Tafanelli investigate the possibility of annexing <br />that section to Redwood City. Mr. Tafanelli agreed to do so and arranged <br />Z 0) to see City Attorney McCarthy regarding procedure. <br />Communication was received from Planning Commission reporting action taken on <br />Alspaugh, Swett and Hogg applications, enclosing copies of resolution <br />adopted in eacn case. <br />Planning Commission resolution approving rezoning of Alspaugh property, with <br />wording of resolution changed to conform to legal description of property <br />as set forth in Mr. Alspaugh's deed, was read and approved. <br />On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Anderson, introduc- <br />tion of ordinance for rezoning said lots, with change in wording to conform <br />to corrected resolution, was unanimously passed. <br />Planning Commission resolution approving rezoning of Lots 4 to 9 of Block 6, <br />Eastern Addition, was read and approved. <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, introduc- <br />tion of ordinance for rezoning said lots, was unanimously passed. <br />On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, resubdivi- <br />sion of Lot 51, Reese Subdivision, Resubdivision of Lots 10 to 14 inclusive <br />of Block 1 of Redwood Oaks, was approved, with stipulation by Councilman <br />Granger that letter from American Trust Company, stating that instead of <br />depositing $2500.00 in cash with City Treasurer, which because of method of <br />financing loan on this property was contrary to bank regulations, the Bank <br />would retain in its possession $2500 of its commitment to insure completion <br />of street work, be approved -nd made pert of the minutes. Motion passed. <br />'This letter will refer to the street work, sewers and curbs on <br />Ponlar Avenue between Ebener and Hudson Streets, Redwood City and also <br />in connection with an application for building permits of Mrs. Esther <br />M. Lunsm- nn. <br />We wish to advise you that we have extended a ':'gilding loan to <br />Mrs. Lunsmann to cover the above mentioned work of improvement and the <br />construction of eight houses. We will hold sufficient money in our <br />commitment -account to pay for the work of improvement which we <br />understand is in the neighborhood of 2,500.00.° <br />I <br />City Treasurer Dodge was instructed to forward $450.00 to the National War Fund, <br />on motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and <br />Q unanimously passed. <br />
