Motion passed unanimously. <br />The oath of office was administered to the newly appointed member of the Port Commission, <br />Mr. S. D. Herkner. Mayor Hilton congratulated Mr. Herkner on his appointment and <br />thanked him for the service he had rendered the community in the past.. <br />City Attorney McCarthy reviewed the proceedings of the Redwood Villa.Park project and <br />announced that the next step was to adopt a resolution overruling protests and also <br />one ordering the work done and calling for bids. The Mayor asked for any protests. <br />There were none and Councilman Werder offered resolution overruling protests to <br />improvements to be done in Redwood Villa Park and moved its adoption. On roll call, <br />k' <br />resolution was unanimously adopted with Councilman Armstrong absent. <br />RES0,LUT I ON No. 427 <br />RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTESTS UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION No. 1946-3. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did, on the 19th day of <br />August, 1946, pass and adopt Resolution -of Intention No. 1946-3 to order the follow - <br />Ing work to be done and improvements ,to be made in said City of Redwood City, to -wit: <br />Grading and paving.the following streets and portions of streets by <br />constructing a six-inch waterbound macadam base and one and one-half inch <br />E asphalt concrete surface; construct combined concrete curbstand gutters <br />and four -inch cement concrete sidewalks five feet wide along each side of <br />each of such streets; grading and paving shall be done and constructed on <br />4 all streets and intersections of streets herein mentioned as follows: <br />{ a.) Linden Street between a line drawn between the most southerly <br />2 <br />point of Lot 5 in Block A and the most easterly point of Lot 7 of Block <br />B of Boyd & Kent's Addition as shown on recorded map thereof, and the <br />_ terminus of said Linden Street in Park Street; <br />b.) Park Street from the northeasterly line of Cypress Street to the <br />[ �l terminus thereof in Linden Street; <br />c.) Center Street from the southwesterly line of E1 Camino Real to <br />the northeasterly line of Murray Court; <br />d.) Madrone Street between the southeasterly boundary of Boyd & <br />Kent's Addition as shown.on recorded map thereof and the northwesterly <br />1 line of Park Street; <br />e.) Cypress Street between the southeasterly boundary of Boyd & <br />Kent's Addition as shown on recorded map thereof and the northwesterly <br />line Park Street; <br />f.) McEvoy Street for the entire length thereof; <br />i WHEREAS in and by said Resolution of Intention No. 1946-3 said Council fixed <br />Tuesday, the 3d day of September, 1946, at the hour of 5:00 o'clock p.m. of 'said <br />day. -at the meeting place of said Council in the City Hall on Middlefield Road <br />in said City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo', State of California, as the day, <br />j hour and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the <br />proposed work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No.1946-3, <br />or to the grades at which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or <br />{ to the district to be assessed for said work and improvements, could appear before <br />said Council and show cause why said work and improvements should not be carried <br />I� out and -done in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No. 1946-3 or why <br />said work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the proposed grades <br />as shown on the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications referred to in <br />said Resolution of Intention No. 1946-3 and now on file in the office of the Clerk <br />of said City; and <br />WHEREAS said Council did proceed, on September 3, 1946, to hear and consider <br />any protests or objections against the proposed work, or against the extent of the <br />district to be assessed, and said Council thereupon fully considered the same; and <br />�1 WHEREAS, at said date, hour and place when and where objections could be made, <br />as aforesaid, no owner of property liable to be assessed for said work or improvements, <br />made any written or other protest against said work or improvements, or against the <br />extent of the district to be assessed therefor; and <br />WHEREAS said Council, on said 3d day of September, 1946, postponed theconsid- <br />eration of a resolution ordering the work to the 20th day of January, 1947, and on <br />said date further,postponed the consideration of said resolution ordering the work <br />to this 3d day of February, 1947; <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, and said <br />t <br />
