I
1
I hereby approve the foregoing resolution
this 3d day of February, 1947.
109
' W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
City Attorney McCarthy explained that after property is marked "sold for delinquent taxes"
it remains that way for five years when it is customarily deeded to the City by the
City Collector. He explained that the former City Collector., Mrs. Miramontes, had
been authorized to do so, and he had prepared a similar resolution authorizing Paul
Perrin the new Collector to do the same. Councilman Werder asked if it wouldn't be
possible to authorize the City Collector to so execute deed by title rather than by
name. City Attorney McCarthy advised that it would inform the County Recorder who
was authorized by the Council to execute the deeds and City Manager Blom also pointed
out that the City Collector was an appointment made by•the City Manager and he be-
lieved the Council should confer the authority on each appointment. Councilman
Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, adoption•of resolution authorizing
City Collector Paul Perrin to execute deeds to the City of Redwood City. On roll call,
resolution was unanimously adopted with Councilman Armstrong absent.•
RESOLUTION No. 433
AUTHORIZING PAUL E. PERRIN, AS CITY COLLECTOR, TO EXECUTE DEED TO THE CITY
OF REDWOOD CITY OF DELINQUENT PROPERTY UNREDEEMED FOR FIVE YEARS.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that PAUL E. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this
3rd day of February, 1947.
>= W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
City Attorney McCarthy pointed out that from time to time there are redemptions by people
who have let their property stand delinquent for more than five years and the prop-
erty has been deeded to the city. When this occurs, it requires more than a deed of
redemption to give clear title to the property. It was suggested by the City
Attorney that the Council might wish to grant authority to the City Collector to
execute such deeds. This suggestion was not looked upon with favor by the majority
of the Council, however, and the matter was dropped.
Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, filing of affidavit of publica-
tion of resolution of intention to annex territory known as Atherwood.
