Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the minutes of
<br />the regular meeting of September 23rd and the special meeting of September
<br />30th be approved as mailed. Under the question, City Manager Blom advised
<br />of a correction to be made in the minutes of September 23rd on Page 3 in the
<br />first paragraph. The minutes showed City Manager Blom as having made a
<br />motion instead of Councilman Armstrong. Councilman Armstrong withdrew his
<br />motion with the consent of the second and moved, seconded by Councilman
<br />McNulty that the minutes of September 23rd be approved as corrected and the
<br />minutes of Septermber 30th be approved as mailed. Motion passed unanimously.
<br />Communication was received from B. and Mary V. Dunleavy, 526 Alameda de las
<br />Pulgas, requesting better bus service in the city. Councilman Granger moved,
<br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the communication be referred to the
<br />Martin Transportation Company. Motion passed unanimously.
<br />Communication was received from C. D. Richardson, 223 Oakdale Street, protesting
<br />installation of parking meters. The communication was ordered filed until
<br />such time as the parking meters are discussed.
<br />Communication was received from Charles E. Randlett, Civil Engineer, proposing
<br />a rearrangement of lots in Hudson Park which would provide another lot on
<br />Redwood Avenue and which would necessitate the revamping of the creek and
<br />a change in setback lines on Redwood Avenue at this point from 20 feet to
<br />10 feet. A sketch was presented showing the proposed arrangement. The
<br />letter stated a ranch type -house would be built on the lot facing Redwoods
<br />Avenue.
<br />Attorney Wayne Millington appeared before the Council in behalf of the sub-
<br />divider, Mr. David Holder, and expressed the opinion that this plan would
<br />remove the objections of the property owners in the vicinity, i. e., that
<br />a

<br />City Manager Blom advised the Council that West Coast Carnival had requested per-
<br />mit to show in this city from October 22nd to 26th inclusive. Councilman
<br />Warder moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, that City Manager be authorized
<br />to make suitable arrangements. Under question, Councilman Granger question-
<br />ed possibility of gambling at the carnival, stating his belief that Police
<br />�.
<br />Department should watch very closely. Motion carried unanimously.
