There was considerable dis- <br />cussion on the part of the Council, it being the general consensus that if the <br />house were built on the new lot before the courts were built the plan would be <br />favorably considered, however, there was no guarantee that the house would be <br />built. <br />A communication from Attorney James T. O'Keefe, Jr. was read which requested <br />that inasmuch as he had not had an opportunity to stud the new plan or con- <br />PP Y Y <br />tact the residents in this area whom he is representing, the matter be Contin- <br />ued and no definite action be taken at this time. <br />Councilman Armstrong believed the matter should be referred back to the Plan- <br />ning Commission and inasmuch as they meet on Tuesday, October 8, he moved that <br />the revised map be referred to the Planning Commission for consideration at <br />the October 8th meeting, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Under the question, <br />Attorney Millington stated that the matter had been before the Planning Com- <br />mission and that.the proposed plan would eliminate the objections of the <br />j <br />protestants. He asked that definite action be taken at this meeting so that <br />Mr..Holder could begin construction in the subdivision. It was the decision <br />of•the Council that if the Planning Commission came to a definite decision <br />in the matter at their meeting the Council would meet in a special meeting <br />Wednesday night. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the City Mana- <br />ger be instructed to notify Mr• O'Keefe of the action of the Council so that <br />he•and other interested persons could be present at the meeting of the Plan- <br />ning Commission. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the affidavit of <br />publication of ordinance establishing a Traffic Safety Commission be filed. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />'Councilman Britschgi offered adoption of ordinance establishing Traffic Safety Com- <br />mission, seconded by Councilman McNulty. On roll call, ordinance was unani- <br />mously adopted with Councilman Werder absent. <br />Councilman.McNulty offered introduction of ordinance changing name of Chilton <br />Street to Winslow Street, seconded by Councilman Armstrong. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />City Manager Blom reported that he had contacted the State Highway Department and <br />they have agreed to make a survey of the Bayshore Highway and Chestnut Street <br />crossing with a view to installing the same kind of lights as are installed Ilb1 <br />between here and San Francisco. As soon as the survey is complete, the <br />Department will send a representative to discuss the matter of paying for the <br />lights and other detail. At this meeting, it is planned to also discuss the <br />proposed flood lighting of intersections on E1 Camino Real and also new traf- <br />fic lights at these intersections. <br />In regard to the discussion on the proposed amendment to the procedure code ordi- <br />nance, Councilman Armstrong was of the opinion that it should be dropped from <br />the agenda. It was at the request of Attorney Ernest A. Wilson that it had <br />been placed on the agenda and Mr. Wilson had been unable to be present to <br />
