On roll call, ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />Affidavit of publication of ordinance annexing Atherwood Subdivision was ordered filed on <br />motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />This was the time set for public hearing on the above ordinance. There were no <br />appearances and Councilman Werder moved adoption of ordinance annexing Atherwood <br />Subdivision, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. On roll call, ordinance was unani- <br />mously adopted. <br />In regard to endorsement of assembly bills No. 543 and 753, City Manager Blom advised <br />that these bills had been endorsed by the Fire Chiefs' Division of the League of <br />California Cities and that they had requested a resolution be adopted b the Coun- <br />q p y <br />oil approving the legislation. Fire Chief Lodi explained that they are amendments <br />and new laws to the present Health and Safety Code and pertain chiefly to hotels <br />and apartment houses. The bills provide, in part, for the fire departments to make <br />inspections. Councilman Granger offered resolution endorsing Assembly Bills No. 543 <br />and 753 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman McNulty. On roll call, <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />RESOLUTION No. 437 <br />ENDORSING ASSEMBLY BILLS Nos. 753 and 543• <br />WHEREAS the officers of the Redwood City Fire Department have carefully <br />studied the provisions of Assembly Bill No. 753 and Assembly Bill No. 543 of the <br />present session of the State Legislature, relating to amendment of the Health and <br />Safety Code, and the State Housing Act of this State, and have approved the enact- <br />ment of each of said bills in the interest of public safety; <br />(� RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby endorse <br />the approval of the officers of its Fire Department of said bills and hereby recom- <br />mends the adoption of each of said bills by the present session of the legislature; <br />FURTHER.RESOLVED that copies of this resolution, duly certified by the Clerk <br />of this Council, be sent to Walter P. Koetitz, Chief of the State Division of <br />_Housing, 515 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, and to Senator Parkman and Assemblyman <br />Dolwig at Sacramento. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on .the 17th day of February, 1947, by the follwoing vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, McNULTY, SWIFT, WERDER and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES: Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: NONE <br />W.
