Communication from Dr. Charles E. Penez for permission to build'a 201 x,201 studio and <br />storage space'over his garage at 141 Fulton Street was received. He stated that <br />the room was- not to be used for cooking purposes or manufacturing. Councilman <br />Werder believed the application should be clarified in regard to the meaning of <br />studio and moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the communication be re- <br />ferred to the maker with instructions to the City Clerk to ask him to clarify <br />the use of the studio-., Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from the Cuddy Motor Company requesting permission to use <br />the parking Tot while they are building a'building on their lot on Lathrop Street <br />at which location they have a permit for a used car lot. City Manager Blom advised <br />that the lot which Cuddy Motor Company is using on El Camino Real is the one which <br />came up for discussion at the last meeting of the Council. He stated that the <br />building on Lathrop Street is partially completed. Councilman Werder moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that a permit be granted Cuddy Motor Company, for <br />a used car lot on Vera Avenue and El Camino Real until April 7, 1947, pending <br />completion of their building on their licensed lot on Lathrop Street. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Hilton was of the opinion that the Council should view the locations of pro- <br />posed used car lots before granting permits. He referred to the permit issued at <br />a recent meeting for a lot at Main and Maple with the understanding that the lot <br />was to be facing -on Maple Street. He stated that the lot definitely faces on <br />Main -Street and he believed this point should be kept in mind when used car lot <br />licenses come up for renewal in June. <br />Communication from the Peninsula Ambulance Service was received requesting an opportunity <br />to discuss the matter of ambulance service. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded <br />by Councilman Britschgi, that the communication be referred to the City Manager <br />for study and report at the next meeting. Under the question, Councilman Granger <br />requested that the county be consulted•in this matter. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from 'Charles Randlett on behalf of David Holder requesting an <br />extension of thirty days in which'to plant the row of acacia trees along the ditch <br />bank in Hudson Park. The reason for the request was due to the fact that con- <br />t <br />struction was slow and that it has not progressed to the point that it would be <br />safe to plant the young trees. Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Werder, that an extension of time be granted to April 7, 1947, in which to plant <br />the acacia trees along the ditch bank in Hudson Park. Motion passed unanimously,. <br />Application for Service Station and Garage on Woodside Road and Madrone was next <br />presented. This matter had been discussed at the last meeting but no plans had <br />been submitted. The applicants addressed 'the Council and presented the plans <br />which were studied by the Council. Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Council- <br />man Granger, that the permit for a service station and garage on the Woodside Road <br />and Madrone Street be granted subject 'to the approval of the Building Inspector. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from City Assessor John J. Brophy in regard to assessment <br />for improvements on the property of Mrs. Luigi Duni, 201 Lincoln Avenue. Mrs. <br />Duni paid the first installment of taxes on property under protest.
