EI] <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER OFFERED RESOLUTION APPOINTING CUTHBERT CURRIE AS CITY ATTORNEY for' 6 <br />the City of Redwood City according to provisions of the Charter and moved its <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman McNulty. On roll call, resolution.was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />R E S O L U T I O N No. 462 <br />APPOINTING CUTHBERT B. CURRIE AS CITY ATTORNEY <br />RESOLVED, that CUTHBERT B. CURRIE be and he is hereby appointed as City Attorney to <br />fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Paul A. McCarthy, effective as of the <br />close of this meeting, and that his compensation be and the same is hereby fixed <br />at $350.00 per month, payable semi-monthly. <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted. by the City Council <br />of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of <br />April, 1947, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, McNULTY, SWIFT, WERDER•and Mayor HILTON. <br />.NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. Mr. McCarthy, City Manager Blom and the Mayor ex- <br />tended their congratulations to the newly appointed City Attorney. <br />COUNCILMAN ARMSTRONG MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN GRANGER, THAT COUNCILMAN GEORGE <br />MCNULTY be authorized to sign all checks and warrants in the absence of Mayor W. W. <br />Hilton from the city. Motion carried unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BE INSTRUCTED TO HAVE an.officer on <br />duty all day Saturdays between the Southern Pacific Depot and E1 Camino Real in <br />addition to the officer now patrolling this section, seconded by Councilman Werder. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER INQUIRED AS TO HOW THE NEW TRAFFIC ROUTING WAS WORKING out aroung the <br />Southern Pacific Station. City Manager Blom reported that it would take a little <br />time before the general public was familiar with the new plan but that it was being <br />put in force. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER REPORTED THAT TIiEATRES IN ADJOINING CITIES ARE AVAILING themselves <br />of a service of an armored vehicle to take their cash to the bank. He inquired <br />if the local theatres would not be able to avail themselves of this service thereby <br />releasing the policemen from this duty. The City Manager was to check into this <br />service. <br />COUI4CILI4AN GRANGER INQUIRED ABOUT THE5 POINTS INTERSECTION. City Manager Blom reported <br />that a traffic count has been taken there which will be submitted to the State <br />Highway Department. <br />
