ri
1
1
1
matching funds forrecreation purposes. City Manager Blom advised that if the 167
Council wished to endorse these bills the City Attorney had prepared a resolution
for adoption. Councilman Werder asked if the matter had been referred to the
Parks and Recreation Commission and was advised that it had been referred to the
City Manager by the Recreation Department. Councilman Werder was of the opinion
that a recommendation should be had from the Parks and Recreation Commission, which
opinion was shared by Mayor Hilton. Councilman Britschgi pointed out that the
Commission was meeting tomorrow night but that the Council would not meet again for
two weeks and he believed it important to adopt the resolution so that matching
funds could be obtained as soon as possible if the bills were passed. Councilman
Granger also expressed himself as agreeing with Councilman Werder and Mayor Hilton
and believed a recommendation should be had from the Commission. City Manager
Blom advised that the city's funds were available from the bond issue but that there
would not be enough money to carry out the program unless matching funds were ob-
tained"from the State. Councilman Britschgi offered adoption of resolution endors-
ing the bills as recommended by the California Recreation Executives and moved its
adoption subject to the approval of the Recreation Commission, seconded by Council-
man Werder. On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted with Councilman
Armstrong absent.
R E S 0 L• U T I 0 N No. 463
ENDORSING ASSEMBLY BILLS Nos. 1157, 1244 and 1445.
RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby endorse
Assembly Bill No. 1157, Assembly Bill No. 1244, and Assembly Bill No. 1445, and
hereby recommends the adoption of each of said bills by the present session of the
Legislature:
It is further resolved that copies of this Resolution, duly certified by the
Clerk of this Council, be sent to Senator Harry Parkman, Assemblyman Richard Dolwig,
and Charles W.
