180 fr°
Mr. Murray, owns a building on one of the pieces of property and a deed had been
prepared permitting him to retain possession for twelve months and to take the i
t ,
rental income from the property with the provision that if within the twelve j
month..period the city can take possession within thirty days notice if desired.
Mr. Murray is donating a triangular parcel in the rear of his property. It was the
City Manager's recommendation that a resolution accepting the deed be adopted.
The other two pieces of property acquired are undeveloped: Councilman Werder r
offered resolution accepting deed to the Murray property and moved its adoption,
seconded by Councilman Swift. Under the question, Councilman Britschgi asked
if an assessment district was going to be formed for the parking lot. City
Manager Blom replied that there. would be and that it felt necessary to acquire the
property even though there would be some delay in getting the improvements made.
If the project is not approved by the property owners, it would be possible to
straighten out the creek and get an alley way through so that access could be had
to the rear of the stores on Main Street. The boundary of the assessment district
would probably be on Broadway, Main and, on the opposite sides of the above
mentioned streets, some of the property would be included. He was doubtful if
the Federal Government would contribute anything for the Post Office property.
On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted with Councilman Armstrong absent.
R E S 0 L U T ION No. 469
ACCEPTING DEED FROM WILLIAM D.
