192 <br />Councilman Britschgi moved adoption of interim ordinance, seconded by Councilman <br />Granger. On roll call, ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION OR AMENDED SALARY ORDINANCE WAS ordered filed on motion of Coun- <br />oilman Werder. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Granger offered adoption of amended salary ordinance, seconded by Coun- <br />oilman McNulty. On. roll call, ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />AFFICAVIT OF PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE REZONING OAKWOOD PARK No. 1 was ordered filed on <br />motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Werder. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Councilman Werder offered adoption of ordinance rezoning Oakwood Park No. 1, seconded <br />by Councilman Swift. On roll call, ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION OF RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY KNOWN AS REDWOOD <br />INDUSTRIAL TRACT WAS ordered filed on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Britschgi offered introduction of ordinance annexing territory known as <br />Redwood Industrial Tract, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously. <br />H. L. SANDERS appeared before the Council requesting the abating of a nuisance next to <br />his place of business at 1771 Bayshore Highway. A milling company allows sawdust <br />to fly on to his property and it settles on his tractor machinery. City Attorney <br />Currie advised that he understood that a citation had at one time been issued by <br />the District Attorney's office and a complaint prepared but never signed. He was <br />of the opinion that there was an ordinance providing for the keeping of sawdust. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, that the matter be turned <br />over to the City Manager for immediate action. Motion passed unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN SWIFT INQUIRED AS.TO PROGRESS BEING MADE ON STREET REPAIRS. City Manager <br />Blom advised that repairs are being made and that plans are will organized. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED THE STEPS NECESSARY TO COMPEL THE CONTRACTOR TO COMPLETE THE <br />HUDSON STREET PROJECT. City Manager Blom stated that he believed that unless some <br />action is taken immediately to finish the work, the bonding company should be <br />called upon to finish the project. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Council- <br />man McNulty, that the City Manager be instructed to notify the bonding company <br />that definite action is going to be taken unless something is done immediately by <br />the contractor to finish the Hudson Street project. Motion passed unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ADVISED THAT THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES was requesting cities <br />to endorse the passage of legislation in the State Legislature in regard to cities <br />being reimbursed for tax exemptions allowed veterans. He moved, seconded by Coun- <br />oilman Swift, that the City Manager be instructed to send telegrams to the repre- <br />sentatives in the Legislature asking for favorable action on the bill providing <br />for reimbursing cities for tax exemptions allowed veterans. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT POSSIBILITY AND ADVISABILITY OF ERECTING TRAFFIC SIGNS, <br />speed limit signs, etc., be referred to the Traffic and Safety Commission for <br />their recommendation, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Motion passed unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER INQUIRED IF IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE FOR THE PARKING METER SERVICE MAN <br />to be deputized and allowed to issue citations.
