P. <br />BUILDING INSPECTOR-DUNCAN•REPORTED ON THE -ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS AGAINST THE JOAQUIN SABLAN <br />PROPERTY. The work is progressing slowly but the Building Inspector recommended that <br />the matter be carried on the agenda. Councilman Swift moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Werder, that the matter be placed on the agenda for the second meeting in August. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />CITY CLERK DODGE ADVISED THAT ALL USED CAR LOT PERMITS AUTOMATICALLY EXPIRE ON JUNE 30 <br />and asked what disposition the Council wished to make of permits now in force. <br />Councilman Werder was of the opinion that the Weltner Motor Company was not meeting <br />the terms of their agreement and that they were in reality operating two lots <br />although they have a permit for only one. He moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, K j <br />that all used car lot permits now in force be extended for a period of one year, a <br />ii <br />or until June -30, 1949s, with the exception of the permit issued to Weltner Motor <br />I <br />Company until they comply with the terms of the ordinance and with agreement with <br />the Council. Motion passed unanimously. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE PRESENTED ORDINANCE GOVERNING THE KEEPING OF BEES which provided <br />for no bees to be housed within 150 feet of the nearest residence. After reading <br />of the ordinance, Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, intro- <br />duction of ordinance controlling the keeping of bees in Redwood City. Motion <br />passed,unanimously. <br />THIS WAS THE TIME FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON FIVE ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS. The first one dis- <br />cussed was that against the property of Lucille Picras, 1321 Middlefield Road. <br />Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, filing of the affidavit of <br />posting of the abatement notice and mailing of notice to the above named property <br />owner. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Building Inspector Duncan reported that this property is half torn down and recom- <br />mended that it be carried on the agenda. Councilman Werder moved, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, that the matter be carried on the agenda for the second meeting <br />in July. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Affidavit of posting notice of abatement and mailing of notice to Jose. and G. and <br />J. LeStrange and Evelyn Carbone against property at 1135 Main Street,_the old <br />Yellow Cab building, was ordered filed on motion of Councilman Swift, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Building Inspector Duncan reported that this building is to be torn down. Council- <br />man Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, that the matter be carried on the <br />agenda for the second meeting in July. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Affidavit of posting notice of abatement and mailing of notice to Lino S. Fabbro <br />against property at <br />524 and <br />526 <br />Arguello Street was <br />ordered filed on motion of <br />Councilman Werder, <br />seconded <br />by <br />Councilman Swift. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Building Inspector <br />Duncan reported that <br />Mr. <br />Fabbro <br />had promised <br />to tear this <br />building <br />down in accordance <br />with agreement with <br />the <br />Council. <br />Councilman <br />Swift moved, <br />seconded <br />i by Councilman Holmquist, that this matter be carried on the agenda until the second <br />r <br />meeting in July. Motion passed unanimously. <br />I <br />Affidavit of posting abatement notice and mailing of notice to Rose Bertolucci, <br />,; owner of property at. 2202 Middlefield Road was ordered filed on motion of Councilman <br />Werder, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion passed unanimously. <br />
