Councilman Granger asked to have included in the motion <br />that Chilton Street be renumbered and residents notified. City Engineer <br />Wilson advised that it would be logical to renumber Winslow Street rather than <br />Chilton but that it would prove inconvenient and more expensive because of <br />business houses on Winslow Street. Councilman Granger withdrew his request. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication <br />was received from <br />21 <br />Miramontes, City <br />Collector, advising there <br />Councilman Granger asked if the city had a right to accept the bid when it was <br />received a check <br />in the <br />received. Motion passed unanimously. <br />A Mr. W. G. Paul appeared before the Council protesting the change of the name of <br />Chilton Street to Winslow. He based his objections on the fact that there <br />was a jog in the street and also that it would necessitate renumbering the <br />whole street. The amount had been credited <br />against delinquent taxes and bonds. It was necessary to cancel $91.43 on <br />Bond Assessment M-1 on Lots 20-21, Block 13, West Redwood. Approval was asked <br />to do this. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the <br />recommendation of the City Collector be accepted and the outstanding assess- <br />ment owed Series M-1 be cancelled. Under the question, it was asked if this <br />had the auditor's approval to which City Auditor Dodge replied that it had. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Petittion was received from residents on Westgate asking for street improvements. <br />The petition was referred to the Engineering Department for a report at the <br />next meeting particularly as to what percentage of front footage is represent- <br />ed by the petition and a rough estimate of the cost of the project. <br />Application for permanent dance permit was received from Fong's Iroquois Village. <br />Some of the councilmen had inspected the premises and it was their opinion <br />t <br />that in order to have a separate room for the dancing it would be necessary to <br />continue lattice work to the ceiling. Councilman Werder moved the permit be <br />granted subject to completion of full•lattice work from the top of a booth to <br />the ceiling to more clearly divide the bar from the dining room and dance <br />floor and subject to the approval of the fire inspector. The motion was sec- <br />onded by Councilman Swift and passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Armstrong introduced Mr. Leonard J. Cleminshaw of the firm of J. M.
