22 <br />After further discussion, the motion was voted upon rind failed to carry by a six to <br />one vote. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED FOR A REPORT FROM THE CITY MANAGER AS TO THE STATUS OF BUTCHER <br />FIELD. City Manager Blom advised that the latest development was that the real estate <br />department of the southern Pacific Company had not approved either of two locations <br />for the team track and that no discussions held on the matter were binding on then <br />because they had not discussed the matter with the management. They advised they <br />would -consider further suggestions in the matter. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ADVISED THAT A BILL IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE HAD BEEN APPROVED BY THE <br />r <br />GOVERNOR ACCEPTING OWNERSHIP OF UNION CEMETERY. He moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Swift, that a letter be sent to Senator Dolwig expressing appreciation for his <br />drafting of the bill and his support of it. Motion passed unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN WERDER OFFERED RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DEED TO ROBINSON PROPERTY and moved its <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Under the question, City Attorney Currie <br />advised that the heirs of the Robinson Estate desired a few items from the house <br />in the event that it is torn down. There was considerable discussion on this as <br />to whether it would legally bind the Council. On roll call, the resolution was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />R E S G L U T I O N No. 497 <br />ACCEPTING DDED FROM DOXSEE COMPANY FOR ROBINSON PROPERTY <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the deed from DOXSEE <br />COMPANY, a corporation, to the City of Redwood City, dated July 7, 1947, be accepted <br />by and on behalf of said City, said deed being for the following described property: <br />COMMENCING at a point on the Southeasterly line of Jefferson Avenue distant <br />thereon 100 feet Northeasterly from the Northeasterly line of Railroad Avenue, <br />formerly called Pennsylvania Avenue; thence running Southeasterly at'right <br />angles to said Southeasterly line of Jefferson Avenue to the center line of <br />the West branch of the Redwood Creek, being also the Westerly boundary line <br />of the property conveyed to F. K. Towne by the Redwood City School District, <br />by Deed recorded June 19, 1926, in Book 240 of Official Records at page 239; <br />thence running Northerly and along said boundary line of property conveyed <br />to F. K._Towne to the Southwesterly line of Middlefield Road, formerly called <br />Center Street as described in that certain Deed to the Town of Redwood City, <br />recorded January 4, 1911, in Book 195 of Deeds at page 23; thence running N. <br />520 54' W. and along said line of Middlefield Road to said Southeasterly line <br />of Jefferson Avenue; thence running Southwesterly and along said line of <br />Jefferson Avenue 122.29 feet, more or less, to the point of commencement. <br />BEING a portion of Block numbered four (4) as shown on that certain map <br />entitled "Map of the Property in Villa Lots of J. V. Dilleru which map was <br />filed in the office of the -County Recorder of San Mateo County on September <br />19, 1963, in Book "Ell of Original Maps at page 77 and copied into Book 1 of <br />Maps at page 93 thereof. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 7th day of July, 1947, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLM@UIST, MoNULTY, SWIFT, WERDER and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Counbiimen: NONE <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S.
