M. <br />IN THE ABSENCE of City Clerk Dodge, City Attorney Currie was appointed Clerk pro -tem. <br />ON ROLL CALL, the following were present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, <br />George W. McNulty, H. E. Holmquist, Arthur V. Swift, William M. Werder and Mayor <br />W. W. Hilton. Also present were: City Manager E. W. Blom, City Attorney Cuthbert B. <br />Currie, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy and Police Chief C. L. Collins. <br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI MOVED, seconded by Councilman Granger, that affidavit of publication <br />of notice to taxpayeres be filed. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL, the following were present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, <br />H. E. Holmquist, George W. McNulty, Arthur V. Swift-, William W. Werder, Mayor W. W. <br />Hilton and City Clerk Dodge. Also present were: City Manager E. W. Blom, City <br />Attorney Cuthbert B. Currie, Assessor Auditor John J. Brophy and Police Chief C. L. <br />Collins. <br />Mayor Hilton advised that the City Council was sitting as a Board of Equalization <br />according to State law for the purpose of hearing protests from property owners <br />in regard to assessment of property. <br />City Clerk Dodge advised there were two written protests and read the communications. <br />William E. Ronan, 1419 Arguello Street, protested against the assessment placed on <br />his property at the above address. Mr. William Cleminshaw, of the firm of J. M. <br />Cleminshaw Company and Associates, appeared after checking the records and recom- <br />mended that no change be made in the assessment. City Assessor John J. Brophy <br />concurred in this recommendation. Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi, that the recommendation of the City Assessor be accepted and the <br />I' L <br />
