D. RESTAURANT, 1436 E1 Camino Real, received from <br />Mr. David Dee, Proprietor, was referred to Police, Fire and Building Departments for <br />report back at meeting of October 20th. On motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded <br />by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />RECOMMENDATION OF CITY MANAGER BLOM that extras as noted be allowed in addition to bid price <br />submitted by Davies Auto Company on 2 - 2 ton Dump Trucks and 4 - 1/2 ton Pick-ups, <br />totaling $10,071.30 was approved on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Council- <br />man Swift and carried. Extras involved are: 3/1611 bed plates, $30.00 and cab shields <br />$40.00, total $70.00.. <br />ADDITIONAL 180 DAYS EXTENSION granted Sequoia Cab Company within which to secure new.cars <br />to complete seven permits, was granted on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by <br />Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY, REDWOOD CITY UNIT was granted a permit to. conduct a rummage <br />sale on October 31st and November lst, on motion of Councilman Britechgi, seconded by <br />by Councilman McNulty, and carried. <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM LINCOLN P.T.A. sponsoring "Clean up the City" was ordered filed. <br />CITY ENGINEER LONGSON REPORTED ON FINAL ACCEPTANCE of Hudson Street job as satisfactory <br />as of September 15th, final payment to be made 35 days thereafter. On motion of Coun- <br />cilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, City Engineers recommendation was <br />approved. Motion carried unanimously. <br />F. M. MITCHELL, FIVE POINTS HOTEL, applied for permit to conduct dancing in a room separate <br />from the tavern. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, <br />request was referred to Fire, Police and Building Departments for a report at next <br />meeting. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM RECREATION COMMISSION recommending that softball and baseball <br />be turfed at this time inasmuch as both seasons have been completed. On motion of <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried, Commission's recommen- <br />dation was approved. <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM HOWARD J. CANINE claiming a refund of a $25.00 deposit, plus <br />interest at 6%, which he claims he made several years ago to cover installation of <br />a water service line, refunds to be made after other consumers were connected to the <br />line. City Clerk reported that no record of the deposit could be located in the <br />office. On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty, claim was f <br />denied subject to City Attorney's contactingMr. Canine in an effort to handle to <br />his satisfaction. <br />MR. M. G. ARMEJO PRESENTED A COPY OF A LETTER DATED SEPTEMBER 2nd regarding his property <br />at the corner of Vera Avenue and Valota Road which he stated was left with a steep <br />bank at the point where curve and grade from Vera to Valota Road was reduced. He <br />stated he had asked for permission to erect a wall along outside of his property <br />to be filled in to reduce the slope of the bank, also requested the City to deed to <br />him the strip of land which was not used in changing the curve. Consensus of opinion <br />of Councilmen was that there would be no objections to the construction of the wall, <br />but that the part of the letter regarding the city deeding of the strip of property <br />be referred to City Attorney for a report back at the next meeting. <br />
