279 <br />p MR. CORAL MAXON REQUESTED PERMISSION TO LOCATE a small storage building on -the City <br />property adjacent to the site of his trailer court on the Bayshore now under construc- <br />tion. Request was referred.to City Attorney to work out an agreement which would <br />protect the city from any liability with the understanding that Mr. Maxon would re- <br />move the building whenever notified, on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by <br />Councilman Swift, and carried. ; <br />CITY ENGINEER LONGSON SUBMITTED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS for the construction of Stein - <br />Berger Street from Bayshore Highway to the Sewage Disposal Plant site estimated cost <br />of which is shown below, and recommending call for bids at this time: <br />10,000 cu.. yd. fill ® 1.00 010,000.00 <br />Remove and reset 2 existing cores <br />drains @ $150 300.00 <br />60 Lin. Ft. 151' corrugated pipe <br />drain ® $3.00 150.00 <br />glo 480.00 <br />Engineering & incidentals 10/5 1,045.00 <br />Total estimated cost $11,525.00 <br />Councilman Holmquist moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty that the matter be held <br />up until the new City Manager Mr. Rolison,.reports for duty. Motion. carried. <br />CITY CLERK ADVISED that two petitions for annexation to'the City had been received from <br />Kensington Square, one from the north side of. Jefferson Avenue and one from the south <br />side. City Attorney Currie suggested that the City Clerk check signatures to deter- <br />mine if all signatures were of qualified registered voters. If petitions proved to <br />be in order, council should adopt resolution at the next meeting calling for an <br />election. Mr. Gaskell representing the petitioners stated that all signers were, <br />registered voters, stating further that there were more than enough signers to assure <br />the election. He asked the Council for some assurance that sewers would be installed <br />promptly. City Attorney suggested that City Engineer, City Manager and himself meet <br />with the people of the district to answer questions as to tax rates, sewer problems, <br />etc. On motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman-Britechgi and carried, <br />it was so ordered. <br />MISS LOUISE SCHMIDT OF 1655 Valota Road appeared regarding installation of sewer lateral <br />to her property. City Engineer Longson advised that lateral would be installed in <br />plenty of, time stating further that he would advise Miss Schmidt by letter stating <br />the cost of installing lateral, back -filling and replacing of pavement. <br />CITY CLERK READ LETTER from Peninsula Division League of California Cities advising that <br />the next dinner meeting would be held at the Pioneer, Woodside on October 16th. <br />'Clerk Dodge called roll, all Councilmen present signifying that they would attend. <br />MR. NELSON WELBANKS, OWNER OF SUBDIVISION KNOWN AS E14ERALD LAKE HEIGHTS appeared to dis- <br />cuss the matter of water service for homes now under construction. He stated that <br />30 homes had been completed and were now occupied, and that water service had been <br />supplied to these homes. However, there were some 79 homes now under construction <br />and his appearance was at this time for assurance that water would be supplied <br />upon completion of the homes. He stated further that he had been advised that it <br />would be necessary to install approximately 2000 feet of main from the resevoir in <br />order to supply the necessary water. City Engineer Longson advised that the oonstruc- <br />10 tion of this line was 'scheduled, but that due to strick conditions, necessary pipe <br />, <br />was held up. He recommended that plans and specifications be prepared so that pro- <br />ject can be started as soon as pipe and the necessary funds are available. On the <br />
