Communication, was referred to City Attorney Currie for report <br />back at the next regular meeting. <br />LETTER RECEIVED FROM CITY OF SAN MATEO asking for representative to attend a meeting in <br />the San Mateo City Hall, Wednesday October 22nd to discuss ways and means to alle- <br />viate the dangerous traffic condition on that part of the Bayshore Highway within <br />San Mateo County. Councilman Holmquist signified his willingness to attend the <br />meeting to represent the Council. <br />REDWOOD CITY ROTARY CLUB went on record as urging that "appropriate measures be, taken to <br />eliminate the menace of the Redwood Creek". Clerk was directed to acknowledge re- <br />ceipt of the communication and file same. <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FRO14 MR. DAVID HOLDER asking if the street work at Hudson Park Sub- <br />division known as Arden Court was acceptable to the City. Communication was referred <br />to City Manager for handling. <br />PETITION RECEIVED FROM RESIDENTS OF THE 200 BLOCK ON VIRGINIA AVENUE requesting that <br />improvements be made on Virginia from Oak to Roosevelt Avenue was ordered referred <br />to City Manager for investigation. <br />CITY COLLECTOR PERRIN WAS GIVEN AUTHORITY TO CANCEL 1915 Act Bonds as follows: <br />ARB. Block 226 - Lot 11 - Series J-14 $146.38 <br />ARB. Block 226 -„-..Lot 12 - Series J-14 307.72 <br />Thes 1915 bonds were assessed against tax delinquent lots recently sold at auction <br />by County Tax Collector, and the amount received was unsufficient to pay off the <br />bonds in full. On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Werder, <br />cancellation of the assessments was authorized. Motion 'carried unanimously. <br />PETITION TO IMPROVE'THE 400 BLOCK OF PARK STREET, REDWOOD VILLA PARK received from Mr. <br />Gordon C. Dickerson, City Manager Rolison advised the Council that he had received <br />the original of this petition and that he had turned some over to the Engineering <br />Department for checking. Thought was expressed that possibly the property owners <br />could get together and have this work done on private contract. On motion of Coun- <br />oilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Granger, matter was placed on the agenda and <br />the City Manager will report further on the matter at the next regular meeting. <br />PETITION TO IMPROVE LENOLT DISTRICT BY THE INSTALLATION OF SIDEWALKS, curbs and gutters, <br />etc. was received. Property owners were represented by two or three of their number <br />who were advised that work would not be done before the next spring. Councilman <br />Granger moved that the City Manager and Engineering Department undertake to start <br />plans for the project with'the objective of having plans ready for early spring. <br />Motion'was seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />MR. HARRY HOEFFLER REQUESTED PERMISSION TO ERECT 91 x 101 sign facing El Camino Real on <br />south side of his property at 516 E1 Camino Real. Councilman Werder moved, seconded <br />by Councilman Swift, that City Attorney Currie check the ordinance covering signs <br />and report back to the next regular meeting. Agenda. <br />M. P.
