Letter from C. G. Uhlenberg was' read to the Council as
was one .from City Attorney Currie making certain recommendations. Excerpts of these
letters are as follows:
The Honorable Mayor & City Council
Gentlemen:
W'I In accordance with your wishes we have reviewed the "Official Budget of
f the City of Redwood City for the Fiscal Year 1947-4511 and submit the following
suggestions relative to its form, accounting details, etc.:
1 - The budget document appears to be prepared in a form similar td that
used in prior years and contains the anticipated revenues Prom taxes and other
general and special purposes. It also contains detailed appropriations for
the public library, schedules showing the distribution of salaries to depart-
R■ ments and funds and a statement of estimated revenues and expenses of the water
y■ department for the year'1947-45.
From a practical point of view there is no objection to the budget as
presented, except that certain revenues such as police court fines, parking
meter funds, etc., should be appropriated and accounted for as provided by law.
2 - Included amoung the revenues of the general fund are the following
items which should either be credited to special funds, as provided by law or,
if accounted for in the.general fund should be offset by appropriations of
amounts equal thereto:
Police Court Fines— Motor Vehicle Act $16,000.00
State Liquor Licens Allocation 15,000.00
State Motor Vehicle In -Lieu Tax 23,,000.00
0
