E <br />J <br />Manager instructed to advise the owner of the plant that the matter will be <br />ij <br />carried.on the agenda and that he will be subject to inspection. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />City Manager Blom reported that the Council had authorized him to sign an agreement <br />with the owners of the Redwood Manor Subdivision releasing the city from the <br />obligation of furnishing water to this district. The subdivider has not as <br />yet signed the agreement and no satisfactory offer has been made for the water <br />main which the city owns in this district. This pipe had been offered for <br />$1.50 per lineal foot to the subdivider. The subdivider made a counter offer <br />to,supply the city with equivalent footage of 6" pipe,and Mr. Blom believed <br />this would be an acceptable offer. He advised he would make a further report <br />as negotiations proceeded, <br />City Manager Blom reported that work is being started on the Christmas lighting. <br />1 <br />Estimated cost of tnis lighting will be approximately $1000 including lighting <br />tree in front of City Hall and in the park on Brewster Avenue. Flood lighting <br />nas been ordered for the City Hall which will be a permanent installation. <br />The cost of this will be approximately $100. <br />City Manager Blom presented to the Council copies of the tentative water budget for <br />the current fiscal year. He also presented copies of statement of surplus <br />a <br />funds available for capital expenditures. He pointed out that when the mater- <br />ial now on order is paid for and the jobs completed tnat should be done and <br />equipment bought that is needed, it will more than use the present funds avail- <br />able in the Water Department. Councilman Armstrong complimented City Manager <br />�!k <br />Blom for presenting this detailed statement. <br />City Manager Blom reported that the city had an opportunity to purchase a small pow- <br />er saw for the Park Department and he believed tnat it would be a good invest - <br />mens. The city would then be able to clear the streets of any large trees <br />wnicn mignt fall and it would be possible to nandle some tree removal jobs <br />which are now let out on contract. Tne price of the saw is $710 with immedi- <br />ate delivery. He recommended tnat he be allowed to purchase the saw and that <br />it be enarged to the Equipment Replacement Fund. Councilman Weider moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that tae recommendation of the City Manager <br />be accepted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />The matter of'adopting resolution accepting Holder deed, Oak Knoll Manor, was Carr- <br />ied on the agenda. <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that the city had obtained title from the State for <br />delinquent taxes against Lot 8, Block 28, Central Park No. 2. Negotiations <br />nad been pending witn Mr. Hatton to purcnase the property.and he believed that <br />it would be appropriate to pay $2b.00 to Mr. Hatton for the deed to the lot <br />wnicn would give the city a record title in addition to tae title for tax fore- <br />closure, he pointed out that the city would be saved about this amount in <br />future advertising of the property. He recommended tnat the deed be accepted <br />and the Treasurer be authorized to draw a check in the amount of $25 in favor <br />of Mr. Hatton. Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, <br />that the recommendation of the City Attorney be accepted. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />
