Absent: Mayor W. W. Hilton. <br />Communication was received from Mrs. N. L. Miramontes advising that she was holding <br />a check in the amount of $202.00 as a deposit on Lot 7, Block 10, Lenolt, from <br />Joseph DeGeller. The letter stated that she understood an agreement had been <br />made whereby Mr. Henry Weiner was to have a deed to the lot. Shed asked that <br />Mr. Weiner be instructed to have a check in her office not later than December <br />20, 1946 so that the account could be closed. City Attorney McCarthy advised <br />that a mutual agreement had been drawn to dismiss the suit brought by Mr. <br />Weiner's represefttatives and filed with the title company. The attorney, Mr. <br />Millington, advised that he was attempting to have Mr. Weiner deposit his check. VVV <br />Mr. McCarthy suggested that the Council instruct the Clerk to write Mr. Weiner <br />with a copy to Mr. Millington, that the matter in,zst be closed in accordance <br />with the request of Mrs. Miramontes. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, that the Clerk be instructed to write Mr. Weiner, with <br />a copy to Attorney Millington, advising that he must deposit his check in <br />accordance with the agreement made with the Council not later than December <br />20, 1946. Under the question, Mayor protein Armstrong suggested that it also <br />be provided that if the check is not deposited by December 20, that the city <br />will continue with the suit. Councilman Granger with the consent of the second <br />so amended his motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from Mrs. N. L. Miramontes requesting concellation of <br />delinquent water accounts. Since 1942, there have been 350 delinquent accounts <br />which it has been impossible to collect. Total delinquent water accounts <br />total $991.68; total delinquent garbage accounts, $143.00. Credits which it <br />has been impossible to.refund amount to 030.83 for water accounts and $3.75 <br />for garbage accounts. Mrs. Miramontes requested that the above accounts be <br />placed, in the "dead" file and also turned over to the credit bureau for <br />collection. <br />Mayor pro tem Armstrong recommended that the delinquent water accounts in the <br />amount of $991.68 and the delinquent garbage accounts in the amount of $143.00 <br />totaling $1,134.68, and a like sum from the reserve doubtful accounts be removed <br />from the records and that the proper administrative officials be instructed <br />to place such accounts in the hands of the credit bureau for collection; <br />that the amount of water credits in the sum of $30.83, and garbage credits in <br />the sum of $3.75, totalling $34.58 be transferred to the appropriate revenue <br />account. Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, that the <br />recommendation of Mayor.protem Armstrong be accepted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from Mrs. N. L. Miramontes advising that a letter had/ <br />been received from Attorney Sturgers asking for payments on certain delinquent <br />bonds on property sold by the City of Redwood City. A title search of the <br />property had been made and Mrs. Miramontes was informed that it is a lien on <br />the property. She stated the holder of the bonds was entitled to principal, <br />interest and penalty to date but is asking only the principal and a small <br />portion of interest.
